YOURSAY ‘Transparency, no corruption, no tolls. The people must demand accountability.'
'Kidex shows Pakatan reps losing control of gov't'
Kilgore:
People who voted for the opposition need to speak up and hold the Pakatan government to its promises - transparency, no corruption, no tolls.
Demanding accountability is not betrayal, it is democracy. If the people are not vigilant on keeping their party on track, instead of being a shining hope, it will soon merely be the lesser of two evils, and that's not good enough.
Too Lan: I guess you cannot blame the assemblymen if you have a reluctant MB in Khalid who seems to support Kidex more than the Selangor residents. Change the MB first.
Anonymous_1395303251: What rubbish to support Kidex. First look at the bloody price, it is the most expensive highway ever.
Why don't they give MBPJ the detailed plans? Because then you can calculate actual costs and really know the reason for Kidex.
And with only four lanes it will fill up soon. So what do you do, Kidex 2,3,4,5?
With all that money they can go underground, can’t they? All over the world they go underground. So you solve traffic congestion by more highways?
Next this is not a public highway, it's to line someone's pockets and they are taking away people's homes to do this, acquiring land for someone to make money.
The jams can easily be solved. We can easily put the whole thing underground and the government of Selangor has more than enough money to do it.
AkuMelayu-tetapi ABU jugak: Say No to Kidex (SNTK) secretary David Yoong, I fully agree to Kidex. And I voted for Pakatan in Selangor.
Yoong seems to forget that only the people of PJ old town object to Kidex. The people of Kinrara and Bandar Utama fully agree to it.
We are also voters in Selangor and many of us voted for Pakatan. Yoong, object to Kidex intelligently but do not sabotage the Pakatan state government just because you are affected by development.
Casey: When Khalid claimed that he'd increased the state government's reserves substantially from RM900 mil to almost RM3 billion - presumably from spending no money and no ostensible improvement in the socioeconomic wellbeing of the people - unsuspecting followers jubilated, thinking that they had in him a good and honest MB.
Little did they suspect that he is to commit the state to a massive payout of RM9.65 billion to the water concessionaires and invariably put state government into huge borrowings.
Are we so gullible to believe that Khalid planned and did this for the benefit of the people? Wake up PJ Utara MP Tony Pua.
I too prefer Pakatan vis-a-vis a regime that has decayed beyond redemption. But Khalid at the helm of Pakatan’s state government? No thank you.
To quote CS Lewis, "If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you'll not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair."
To trust Khalid to act and look after the interest of the people of Selangor could be wishful thinking. I think the people of Selangor, in general, and the leadership of PR in particular, should seriously seek the truth.
The truth behind Khalid's generosity to the water concessionaires, his reliance on OSA as a device or means to an end to keep even his fellow legislators at bay, his shadowy attitude towards Kidex, his cloak-and-dagger support or acquiescence of Jais' seizure of the Bibles has to be uncovered.
Otherwise the people and Pakatan alike would end up in the case of "harap pagar jaga padi, pagar makan padi."
Khalid, in discharging his duty as the menteri besar, appears to be biased. It matters not whether it takes the form of actual bias, imputed bias, or apparent bias.
For upholding the rules of natural justice or the more general "duty to act fairly and without bias" is a prerequisite to maintain public confidence in our administrative and legal system.
Conspicuously, Pakatan has adopted this concept of natural justice – of duty to act fairly and without bias - as its paradigm.
But if high-handed and oppressive tactics that run contrary to that paradigm is tolerated in the likes of Khalid, it is a matter of time that the people will see that as mere lip service.
That being the case, what will be left of the people’s hope if the same behaviour – of transgression of justice and liberty as those accused of the current powers-that-be, are tolerated among the men and women of Pakatan.
Anonymous_1395303251: You see, state governments want to totally control local governments so they can repay favours. That is why there will never be local government elections.
The MBPJ councillors must be commended for standing up against crooks in the state government who lie to the public through Pakatan that they oppose toll roads. This was Pakatan’s promise. They are all out to rape PJ with high-density transit oriented development zones when there is no infrastructure available.
Even after removing councillors who they see as obstacles to corrupt practices, they cannot get their way because there are still good councillors there and they come from different parties so it’s difficult to get rid of all.
So they then bypass the councillors and order government servants to do illegal things. There are brave Aduns and councillors who question them in support of the residents but they are ignored
Myop101: Time to being Khalid-led government down. Pakatan assemblypersons in Selangor, please call for a vote of no confidence.
Anonymous_3f4b: This is what is called empowering the people of the Pakatan government. This means the people are the bosses and the elected representatives are mere slaves of the people. It also means that all state decisions are made by the people and the job of government is only to follow and execute orders.
Theirs is to obey and not to question why. The elected representatives in government including the MB and the state excos are only to administer but not manage, and cannot make decisions that affect the people. The real decision makers are the people who are the boss. Get that?
Abasir: With Khalid still in the MB's seat, ratepayers may rightfully conclude that Pakatan has already lost Selangor without so much as a token struggle.
The expression 'Musuh dalam selimut' has never been more apt to describe the role of PKR in the Pakatan marriage of convenience. Therefore it is back to the bad old days with hawk-like vigilance and concerted efforts by ratepayers as the only defence to slow down the Umno parasites.
If Anwar Ibrahim cannot even manage one recalcitrant MB, how on earth will he manage the country?
Waktamnoko: I used to think that these things only happen under BN rule. It looks like Pakatan is no different after all. Looks like power has gone to its head. And, at the rate they are going, Pakatan might easily overtake BN in a matter of time.
Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad aptly described the situation as, "Better with the devil that you know than the angel that you don’t."
Hopefully Pakatan will not turn into the "devil that we do not know" although the signs are not very encouraging.
Ex-wfw: Does it look like we Malaysians are unable to sit down and discuss any serious issues? Please present us with facts rather than mere claims, from both sides.
Anonymous #85701391: Hey, Selangor MB and government, has Kidex taken control of the state government? If so, just dissolve the state assembly and call for another state election. That's the honourable action to take unless there is no more honour among thieving politicians.
