Khairy: Get a grip boys, it ain't a beauty pageant

 

Doc: Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, voter trends from GE13 clearly show that younger voters are more likely to vote Pakatan Rakyat and the older section of Malaysian society tends to vote BN.

Therefore it is only natural that Pakatan, or in this case DAP, fields a candidate that appeals to the voter group that they are targeting.

 

Younger voters want dynamic individuals and youthful politicians that they can relate too, non-tainted politicians. They want approachable individuals and candidates that can see across racial lines. Good looks are just an additional benefit.

 

Old Timer:  What kind of supporters and members that BN has that they need to be reminded that the Teluk Intan by-election is not a beauty contest) by Khairy?

 

Are these people mentally challenged? If not, how insulting it is for Khairy to remind them. Surely they are capable of using their brains.

 

1Mockery: What about you, Khairy? If the kampung people of Rembau can accept you, then why the people of Teluk Intan can't accept DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud then?

 

Oh yes, we forgot, the difference is because you are from Umno. Anything that Umno does, to your mind, is correct.

 

Slumdog: Isn’t Dyana an inspiration and a good example to other young Malay women that they too, can aspire to great things in their life and not be shackled by religious, cultural conventions and Umno's “old boys club” of prehistoric males?

 

And Dyana’s mother must also be congratulated for being so progressive and supportive of Dyana’s bid to become the parliamentary member for Teluk Intan.

 

Nonbeliever: A mother's love is no second to God's love. Dyana loves her mother which is the same as loving Malaysia. For this reason alone, she deserved to be voted in.

 

This is the truth - you must vote against corruption for the sake of future generations consisting of aborigines, Indians, Malays, Chinese, etc. Moreover, Dyana has no experience in corruption.

 

Too Lan: Dyana has lack of experienced in what? Kowtowing to Umno? Dyana is inexperienced, yes - in corruption and racial discrimination.

 

Joe Lee: Khairy, like the rest of the fascist Islamo-Malay gang, is hysterical that a Malay girl has the gumption to be independent in her thoughts and actions.

The feudalism and stone-age thinking in these guys, Khairy included, are making them irrational with rage.

 

Let's have another 100 Dyana Sofyas - that in itself may be enough for all the samseng Malays to run amok.

 

As to Khairy's point that Gerakan candidate Mah Siew Keong has "access to federal agencies", we all know that those running dogs had "access" for 50 years, but not for the people.

 

The last chapter is being written for these running dog parties. Even Umno would not want them if they are a "sure lose" proposition.

 

For now, all the Islamo-Malay fascists should calm down and enjoy the sight of a smart, articulate, independent Malay girl, proving once again that Malays don't have to rely on Umno.

Are you saying federal agencies are there only for Umno parliamentarians and their constituencies and not for all members of parliament?

 

Onyourtoes: Yes Khairy, I agree, this is not a beauty pageant. Why not you propose a series of debates between the candidates on how this nation should move forward.

 

If you wish, you can join in the debate but of course you must then allow the DAP to respond with other suitable debaters as well.

 

To begin with, let’s look at some of issues at hand like the roles of women in a Muslim majority country; how best we can reduce gender inequality; race and religious dominance, do they exist and are they really bad?

 

It is pointless for you to rant about inaccessibility to government agencies if Dyana is elected. That is not democracy; that is third world tribalism.

 

Ratbatblue: The media has presented Dyana in the wrong light. To me, she represents what the youth (and thus the future leaders) of Malaysia should be, dynamic, with a mind of their own, and not parroting what they (the youth) have been indoctrinated to say.

 

Typically, as in most Asian societies, a female is viewed from an altogether different standpoint from a male. And in Malaysia, there is the added factor of that dreaded word: "race".

 

I firmly believe this young lady will be the future "face" of the New Malaysia, which is in its nascent form now and is waiting to metamorphose into its fully developed form soon.

 

I hope she will be an inspiration to all the folks of her generation and later ones too, for they will be the ones to bring much needed change to the country which it urgently needs.

At no point in time should it be relevant what her physical attributes are. Go Dyana, go and show them how to run Teluk Intan. All the best to you.

 

P Dev Anand Pillai: Come on Khairy, you were young as well when you entered politics. You are still young for a full minister.

 

Besides that, why not dig up some history to find out when PM Najib Razak became an MP? And also when he became the MB of Pahang.

 

So it is not about age, it is about the ability. You are a classic example of being a very capable young politician. DAP has produced many capable young women who start out in the late 20s and become very capable national leaders as oppose to BN.

 

So Dyana has got the right start. It will change the way the younger generation of Malays think.

 

Little Sparrow: The Kinabatangan MP and Khairy will be thrilled to see Dyana in Parliament. Indeed, they would not be able to concentrate on other important issues.
