A self-styled leader of Islamo-fascism

YOURSAY ‘No person is superior to the other except in piety and good works.’

Who is Isma's Abdullah Zaik?

Jaycee: Well, here in Bolehland, in order to shine and stand out from the rest, one needs to make radical statements and seen as a champion of the religion of the majority.

And because we have a prime minister that is weak and is afraid to ‘rock the boat,’ it only encourages more people like the Abdullah Zaiks and the Ibrahim Alis to perpetuate racism in Malaysia.

Proarte: What does Isma president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman feel about the Prophet Muhammad's last sermon? Does he reject this Hadith? Does he consider it not 'sahih'?

Well, in this Hadith - which Zaik and Umno apparently reject - is the notion that no person is superior to the other except in piety and good works.

Racism and religious bigotry are simply wrong. One doesn't have to be a Muslim to realise this. One just has to be a human being with basic intelligence and a conscience.

Zaik seems to be bereft of these qualities. He and his ilk shame decency and civilised values. If they represent Islam then, their religion is not divinely inspired.

Mamadias: Every country has its own hardcore believers. Malaysia is no different. They gain prominence during certain political environments. I have seen this in the West - America, France, Germany, and so on.

I have seen the Chinese in Malaysia behaving in a certain way that is not Malaysian at all. But focus on the right things, and Malaysia will be all right. The more you pound on them, the more sympathy they are going to attract.

Cry, My Beloved Country: There is no doubt at all from where the support comes, and why there is a deafening silence from Putrajaya.

Please note his claim that "...Muslims are allowed by Islam to supersede people of other faiths in terms of leadership and are appointed by Allah to lead other races".

Please also note “...the foreword to this man's book was written by Deputy Prime Minister and deputy Umno president Muhyiddin Yassin and ‘30 Soal Jawab’ was launched by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Jamil Khir Baharom.

Ib: Could one consider this a deviant sect since he thinks only Malays can lead and not other Muslims? One would think the religion is above the race?

Oriole: You have to really wonder what exactly goes on in these schools to produce such a misshapen individual with little ability to cope with diversity in the real world.

Is it any wonder that such individuals would yearn for a mythical past of distant lands and agitate to introduce laws of a bygone era?

The present world makes him nervous and anxious. Such distortions and disproportionate understanding of the world, have handicapped individuals like Abdullah Zaik.

Sadirah: This is the product of insular development. The man has no non-Malay interaction nor any understanding of any other world view. So his truth is the ultimate truth. He is truly a product of the NEP.

Anon1: No comment. I prefer to listen to ‘Dazed and Confused’ by Led Zeppelin. That calms my nerves rather than to listen to a mortal who thinks he's the saviour of a particular race.

Pemerhati: Quite a number of countries have their lunatic fringes or people with extremists and outrageous ideas and beliefs which fair-minded people find shocking and unacceptable.

The US white supremacist group Ku Klux Klan is looked down upon by nearly all Americans. Australia's racist Pauline Hanson was rejected by the Australians.

You have the Taliban and Boko Haram groups wreaking death and destruction in Afghanistan and Nigeria respectively. These Islamic groups too, like Isma, claim that they are following what the Quran and Allah want them to do.

If you talk logically to such people by asking them how they know whether or not Allah even exists (and in addition also ask Zaik how he knows that Allah appointed Muslims to lead other races) they are unlikely to have a coherent and logical answer and they might even go ballistic.

The association of Umno’s Muhyiddin and Jamil Khir with Zaik is further confirmation that Umno uses Isma to divide the people by spewing racial and religious venom.

ACR: His views on religion and race are exactly Umno's. No further analysis required of him or Isma.

Pahatian: Why after more than half a century we are still talking about race, race this, race that. Why can't we talk as Malaysians about Malaysians and how Malaysians can move forward to a better tomorrow for all?

Why are their minds still so narrow and askew? God help them.

Anonymous #55961902: Having studied in the field of syariah at the world's oldest Islamic education institution, the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt does not mean a thing, if he/she has a weird mind and can't think rationally.

Abdullah Zaik has so much of hatred and makes all sorts of lame excuses and allegations against other races who have contributed, and are contributing, to the welfare of the country.

He is barking so that his masters will spare him some crumbs.

Cheong Sai Fah: "He argued that Muslims are allowed by Islam to supersede people of other faiths in terms of leadership and are appointed by Allah to lead other races."

This is the problem of a person schooled in only one religion. If you ask a devout Christian, he would think that the Christians should take precedence over people of other faiths too. For that reason alone, religion is the root cause of a lot of disquiet amongst people around the world.

One wonders why would God, if one exists, create so many contentious adherents to worship him.

MacMac: God only created mankind and mankind created religion and now all are divided and claiming their religion is superior to another.

We are all mortals and it’s not religion that makes you immortal. Every religion teaches love and compassion for another. It is only a few fellows who want to be champions and seek cheap publicity.

Swipenter: It doesn't take a lot to turn anyone into a racist and a religious extremist; an inferiority and or superiority complex. Maybe some hidden fear or anger harbouring in his/her mind. Or maybe even a lost/torn identity.

Racists and religious extremists just need some external third party to vent their frustration, anger, fear, whatever, to establish their self-worth and identity.

Whatsup: Who's Zaik? Who cares?
