In Dyana vs Shahrizat, Round 1 to the neophyte

YOURSAY ‘Imagine a tainted leader like Shahrizat talking about credibility.’

'Shahrizat warned me not to be a traitor'

Slumdog: Umno members and supporters love branding people who do not subscribe to their deformed and twisted thought process as traitors.

One can be deemed a traitor if you don’t support Umno, have a different opinion, belief or perspective. And just because Dyana graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), by Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s logic, Dyana must be forever beholden to Umno.

This is primary school type of thinking, very immature and unsophisticated.

Changeagent: Dear Shahrizat, a traitor is defined as a person who betrays someone or something, such as a friend, cause, or principle.

Dyana's friends are 52% of the voting population in Malaysia. Her cause is equality for all Malaysians regardless of race, creed or colour.

Her principle is social justice and fairness. Unlike you, madam, she hardly fits the definition of a traitor at all.

Anak Perak: From the way Dyana handled her critics, Shahrizat has a lot to learn from her. Or is it fear that drives Shahrizat to this level of desperation?

I hope the Teluk Intan folks, especially the Chinese, give this capable and brave young lady a thumping victory.

Siang Malam: Imagine a tainted leader like Shahrizat is suddenly talking about loyalty, credibility and governance? Is Umno so short of young leaders, especially those without baggage?

Ib: The traitors are the ones organising bigoted talks in UITM to put down other people hoping to promote themselves.

They have done more damage to UiTM's reputation whereas Dyana has done UiTM proud to produce such a broad minded and confident individual. All UiTM alumni should support her.

CQ Muar: Shahrizat warned Dyana not to be a "traitor" as she hailed from UiTM. This is yet another act of racism, typically characteristic of Umno leaders.

Was Shahrizat implying that UiTM includes indoctrination as part of the curriculum to reject the opposition, and uphold their 'pledged' loyalty to the ruling government led by Umno?

Such audacity from a Wanita head is absolutely disgusting and off-the-mark remark. She has failed to recognise her own faults in the RM250 million National Feedlot Centre scandal.

What a shameless woman of low principle, character, dishonour - absolutely devoid of integrity of her standing. On the other hand, Dyana Sofya displayed wisdom and courage with her subtle retort.

Abasir: For those morons whose English language proficiency is as woeful as their knowledge of history, UiTM is previously known as ITM, also previously known as Maktab Mara, and previously known as the Rida Training Centre.

It was funded, and continues to be funded, by taxpayers which includes the taxes paid by infidels (Christians, Hindus, Buddhists et al) including pig farmers, casino and brothel operators as well as crony Chinamen like Vincent Tan and Francis Yeoh among others.

Lightning: When someone who has no credibility in the eyes of the voting public calls you a traitor, it means that you have gained the admiration and respect of the public because that someone knows that you are on the winning side.

Fairnsquare: Shazrizat is the real traitor of the rakyat for allowing her husband's involvement in the NFC. That opportunity should have been given to many young bumiputera businessmen.

Shahrizat cannot talk about loyalty. Dyana is breaking the racial divide and gaining the support of all races, something that Umno should be doing but are prevented by the old timers who are advocating racist methods to retain power.

It is time for the younger generation to work towards a multi-racial Malaysia and the wave has begun. We look forward for more Dyanas entering politics.

Proud Malaysian: It is very, very sad that among the leadership of this country are a group of racists who views everything through coloured lens.

I do not understand how Dyana who is standing as a DAP (a multi-racial party) candidate can be branded as a traitor (to her race)? Such an accusation can only come out from the mouth of a racist.

MA: When you Google - Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. Guess what you find? Lembu. Wonder why? Who is the traitor to the nation?

Onyourtoes: If you have spoken right on the face of another person, warning him or her not to be a traitor, you may get a slap. But this is Dyana, and that is why she is the DAP's candidate.

She is definitely not a puppet, a ploy or a traitor. She has brain, the wit and the tenacity. If you have not realised by now, I guess it is too late. She will win the by-election.

Rakyat-in-Grief: I take off my hat for Dyana for her courage in exposing the discrepancy on the basis of cronyism by political elites in the admission at UiTM and at the same time salute her parents, especially her mother, for being with her showing her support for her daughter on the nomination day.

My Opinion: I am sure since Dyana was a toddler, she might have heard all the Umno electoral dirty tricks from her mother. So I guess she is very well prepared.

Pahatian: Dyana could become a traitor to the Malay race, but Shahrizat can never be one. Go figure that one out.
