PARLIAMENT Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia has once again ejected opposition MPs from Parliament, this time two PKR MPs for trying to discuss their tabling of a petition on the Lynas plant.

Pandikar ejected Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh when she insisted on the reason for Pandikar's rejection of a petition filed on the Lynas' Temporary Operating Licence (TOL) from being read out in the House.

Soon after, Padang Serai MP N Surendran suffered a similar fate for seeking a similar explanation from Pandikar.

This is the fourth time Surendran has been ejected from the House in just over a year since becoming an MP. He has only just returned from a lenghty six-month suspension imposed on him in November.

It is remains unclear how long the suspension of Fuziah and Surendran ( right ) will last, although by convention, it would only last for two days of sitting.

Pandikar had previously ejected Gombak MP Azmin Ali, Sepang MP Hanipa Maidin and Batu Gajah MP V Sivakumar among others.

Rarely used

At a press conference later, Fuziah said that in a note to her, Pandikar stated that he was "satisfied" with the government's explanation on the Lynas issue and thus did not allow the petition to be debated.

The move to file a petition in the House is a rarely used method under Standing Order 19, which states that any petition signed by members of public should be heard in the House in the morning, even before Question Time.

Fuziah submitted the petition with about 50 names but said Pandikar also raised issues with the addresses of the petition signers and the total number of signatories.
