Perkasa's war against graft can start with its patron
YOURSAY ‘Why go after the small fry? The obvious ones are there for all to see.’
Now Perkasa turns its guns on corruption
Quigonbond: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali, while you're at it (fighting corruption among retired civil servants), why not train your guns to current civil servants, including politicians living beyond their means?
It's more urgent to prevent good money from draining into bad pockets. You can certainly start with Cowgate and work your way back to everything from PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) to Bank Bumiputra multi-billion scandals. Otherwise, mind your gap.
Ex-PJ: Why go after the small fry? The obvious ones are there for all to see. This is yet another hypocritical statement from people compromised by money; pretending to bite the hand that feeds them.
Dood: How about starting with Perkasa's patron? I think a lot of people would be curious as to how his sons got the wealth they have now.
Pemerhati: Indeed, Ibrahim Ali’s fury is extremely selective as he seems to be completely oblivious to the massive wealth and the corrupt practices of the patron of his racist organisation.
Even a son of former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad is a billionaire and one of the richest men in Malaysia.
Caripasal: Why go after the retire ones? Focus on the current ones. Let start with the PM and his family, and work downward.
Perhaps Ibrahim Ali should also slam KLIA2 for renting its biggest space to a non-Malay owner of budget airline AirAsia. Let’s stop Airasia from operating in KLIA2.
Gen2indian: Really Perkasa? Want some leads for you to follow up?
What about the white-haired Raja from across the South China Sea, the film producer son , the Cowgate madam, and the six UiTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) contractors .
The list is endless and yet Perkasa leaders are concerned about (low-level) retired civil servants?
Astounded: Be careful, Ibrahim, some of those you accuse to be corrupt may even be members of Perkasa as we have seen some very senior ex-civil servants, including police officers, reveal themselves as Perkasa members sitting on various Perkasa-sponsored committees.
'Chop off head' remark offence under new bill
Ferdtan: We don’t care what law, whether it is the soon-to-be-replaced Sedition Act or the newly proposed National Harmony Act, the threat to “chop off heads” is definitely an offence under our Penal Code.
There are so many other laws, beside the above two, to put Perkasa information chief Ruslan Kassim in jail - that is, if the police and attorney-general are keen at least to show their impartiality and do the job they are paid to do.
Just a few possible offences from our Penal Code: what’s about these, “wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot; being a public nuisance; uttering words with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person; and finally perhaps even attempt to murder?”
It is not about the law - it is the officials, the law enforcement agency that had let us down completely.
Let us warn the governing authority; once there is a breakdown in law enforcement it is difficult to get back the trust of the people. Then you may find Malaysians taking law into their own hands.
Paramasvaran S Kandiah: In due course of time, even the Library of the US Congress would not be able to accommodate all the bills and regulations passed by the Malaysian legislatures and not acted upon.
SRMan: Do not get so excited about the chop-off head remark. Remember the threat to slap Seputeh MP Teresa Kok?
The home minister would now say since your head has not been chopped off, then it does not constitute an offence. In other words, you should only lodge a police report when your head is no more with you, no?
Paul Warren: Ibrahim Ali says threatening to burn bibles was not intended to harm any particular person, and therefore it is not an offence. Is it the same with threatening to burn the Quran then?
Onyourtoes: How is it possible not to hurt someone when there was threat to burn the bibles. Look, bibles are holy books to many. Burning their holy books is more insulting than being slapped a hundred times, do you get it?
RR: With the thousands of Islamic institutions and NGOs, there is no surprise that Taliban, Boko Haram-type terrorists have infiltrated into these organisations to chop off heads of genuine critics.
The Special Branch should focus on the activities of these organisations rather than harassing PhD students like Aslam Abdul Jalil for expressing intellectual views.
YF: What nonsense. When you have a "law" that makes "celaka" an offence, how be it you have none for "attempted murder and genocide"?
You now even have a murder victim with no one prosecuted for murder. What kind of idiotic legal system do we have?
