In a posting on its Facebook page, Nandos, which is known for its witty ads, made it clear on which side of the conscience spectrum it stands.
The posting reads, "If feeding was a crime, we’d be guilty as charged. Our kitchens aren’t moving out of the city. But heartlessness should."
This was an obvious reference to Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s aim to rid the nation’s capital of beggars and homeless people.
The minister courted flak when he said that those who gave alms to beggars would be fined and instructed soup kitchens that feed the homeless to relocate.
The Nandos posting saw hundreds of shares and attracted a slew of comments, with many praising the team for their wit and humour.
