PAS has directed its members to stop expressing their opinions regarding the menteri besar change in Selangor until the conclusion of a party central leadership meeting on Aug 10 to decide on the matter.

Its secretary-general Mustafa Ali urged all members to keep their opinions to themselves, PAS' mouthpiece Harakah Daily reported today.

"Some of the reactions have gone against the spirit of debate and is not in tune with the ethics of differing opinions and this creates a bad perception about the party," he said.

He added that PAS leaders should not personally attack each other.

Yesterday, a PAS central committee member is believed to have leaked a screenshot of a conversation in a WhatsApp group among PAS central committee members regarding the possibility of leaving Pakatan Rakyat.

"We have appropriate channels in the party and opinions can be voiced using those channels," Mustafa said, asking the members to be "patient".

PAS leaders have given contradicting messages regarding the MB change issue.

While a delegation of PAS leaders, led by deputy president Mohamad Sabu, had reportedly agreed to the MB change proposal by PKR, party president Hadi Awang said otherwise.

This led Mohamed Sabu to claim that it was Hadi's "personal opinion".
