YOURSAY ‘But how to protect the CM’s house? All PPS volunteers are arrested.’

Guan Eng's house hit by Molotov cocktail

Aries46: Penang CM Lim Guan Eng has many enemies in Penang and one does not need to be a rocket scientist to know who they are.

In fact, even the schoolboys can tell the most likely evil forces that fire bombed the CM’s house.

Under these circumstances, is there round-the-clock security for the CM? And who takes responsibility for this attempt on his family?

Penang police chief Abdul Rahim Hanafi's claim that the police officer guarding the house was inside the compound and did not see what happened outside sounds pathetic, lame, disappointing and worrisome, considering the host of harassment and threats the CM has faced ever since he took office six years ago.

Is this the best Rahim can do in providing security to a CM who is constantly being targeted, not only by hooligans and the state’s opposition politicians but also by their remote-controlled evil minions?

Or is Rahim himself being remote controlled? Since the terrorists were captured on CCTV, let’s hope that the police chief does right by the long-suffering Penangities and their CM for once.

FutureMalaysians: Is this Malaysia's 57th Independence Day?

Fair Play: Believe it or not, this disgraceful act was not a threat to Lim Guan Eng but a slap in the face of the powers-that-be, because it was done on National Day.

CQ Muar: Three cheers to PM Najib Abdul Razak, his cabinet ministers and police for a job ‘well done’ in leading the country into chaos, rowdyism, gangsterism, racism, injustices, etc, while Merdeka celebrates its 57 years of independence; and 'transformation' of a different kind - from bad to worse.

Each day the situation appears to worsen, with no end in sight. Apparently Najib is oblivious and myopic towards such criminal intensities, and emphasises progress, development, peace and patriotism in order to divert the attention of the rakyat (especially the rural folk).

That's exactly what the mainstream media is all about - promoting all the good and excluding all the bad. Thus, can we be expected to herald the Merdeka celebrations warmly without feeling hypocritical?

Nonetheless, this an opportune time to reflect all the cruelties and tragedies occurring in the country under the Umno-led government headed by our world-class statesman and prime minister.

Abasir: What is more significant than this act of cowardice is that none of the leaders in Umno, Gerakan, MCA , MIC have seen it fit to condemn this act.

Perhaps private militias and vigilantes may be the only way to secure anyone not associated with the regime of rogues.

Mushiro: This is another confirmation that the police cannot control crime in Pakatan Rakyat states. This is intimidation by political opponents. They prefer to use the law of the jungle as they cannot win hearts and minds by fair means.

Apa Nama: The work of Umno Baru's and/or its appendages? That is for sure.

While PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) is busy catching nudists and charging opposition members with sedition, someone out there likes to play with fire.

Fairnsquare: We should not jump to the conclusion that this cowardly and disgraceful act was done by Umno supporters. Sadly we are so disunited that when anyone does something wrong, we fight among ourselves.

However, the lack of security is due the weakness of the police. The security officer at the CM’s house who was conveniently busy doing something else must be interrogated. The culprit must be caught.

The police force must regain the public trust. And yes, perhaps we need Gurkha guards to protect the CM.

Oh Ya?: So Bolehland has now been relegated to the same rank as Pakistan, Thailand, Zimbabwe, etc, where the opposition and dissidents are not only being verbally abused, persecuted, jailed but now also subject to violence?

And as usual, the police force has ‘no eye to see’? It seems that it’s some group's ‘jihad’ to bash the opposition at all costs, other than through the ballot boxes.

Anonymous_1Ingrate: What Merdeka? After 57 years of Umno rule, see what have we become - a nation of thugs, where fear reigns and the people are divided by race and religion.

Anonymous #88188: That's why Penang Voluntary Patrol Unit (PPS) is most welcomed in Penang.

Do you think that the men in blue are able to catch the person responsible for this incident? If the CM's home can be attacked like this, what about protection for the common people?

Not Convinced: But how to protect the CM’s house? All the PPS volunteers are now in the police lock-up.
