PKR leaders have been gritting their teeth with ire while reading the stinging criticisms of their de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim by delegates at the PAS muktamar.

It appears that PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution could no longer contain his anger and in a series of tweets lobbed stinging volleys at PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and his supporters.

Though no names were mentioned, the missives were clearly aimed at the PAS president and the unity government faction in the party.

Among others, Saifuddin tweeted: "Is it the Umno annual general assembly which is going on?"

In another post on his handle @saifnasution , he said: "If you want to travel north together, then don't bring a car and drive alone heading south."

Hadi's stand on the Selangor crisis has strained ties between PAS and PKR, especially when he cast aspersions on PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail's ability to be the next Selangor menteri besar.

Let's argue face to face

Meanwhile, Saifuddin also tweeted another sarcastic post, saying: "He is the one who hit us, but he cries instead."

Without mentioning names, the PKR leader added: "Constantly skips meetings, then makes the decision to go against the decision of the meetings. This cannot go on if you want to remain together... stop the rhetoric."

Saifuddin also quoted the words of a former Muslim Brotherhood leader, Sheikh Mehdi Akif, who in said in Cairo in 2010: "You go back and carry on leading the Islamic movement, we will continue supporting our brother, Anwar."

Though the PKR leader did not specify the reasons for including this quote, some believe that Sheikh Mehdi may have directed this at Hadi.

Saifuddin also tweeted that it is "more appropriate to argue with you" in a meeting than to entertain "your attacks" through the media.

Prior to this, PKR's Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin also fired a Twitter salvo against PAS delegats for attacking Anwar.

Among others, Sim said PAS Youth, the syura council and the Dewan Ulama could win battles inside PAS, but "they are losing the war for the next general election".
