'Top 20' list proves M'sians have sense of humour
YOURSAY ‘Malaysians are hypersensitive on far too many things.’
Top 20 things to ban in Malaysia
Onepen: Thought-provoking, Ramesh Rajaratnam, well done. Thank you for these 20 points. In school we played 20 questions to think logically. Here we have 20 topics thought illogically using logic. A creative piece of writing.
The Analyser: Hooray for Ramesh. At least someone in this miserable country has a sense of humour.
Malaysians of all races and creeds are hypersensitive in far too many things. My guess is that's because they are so insecure they cannot tolerate anything outside their own restricted comfort zones.
Longjaafar: I'm sure this list will get longer with additions from well-meaning people who love their exalted leaders.
Multi Racial: Ramesh, great article. Best of all, we should ban these idiots from speaking to the press again. They are the source of our problems.
Vijay47: Ramesh, you are in plenty big trouble and a sedition charge is no doubt heading your way. How can you list not one, not two, but 20 must-bans and not include Christianity?
As everybody knows, Christianity is the religion that confuses certain people and weakens their faith. Bad trouble, brother, you are in b-a-a-a-d trouble.
Kerana Benar: I wish to add to the list. Also ban the following: Anything that resembles cross (+) signs such as ‘+’ road junction. Remember the Mad Mullah also suggested to ban football teams which carry the cross emblem.
Also ban US dollars, the euro, Australian dollars because the money belong to infidels. The list goes on.
Bystander: Might as well ban anything that move against the direction of the ruling government, and hope that everything will then move forward thereafter. That's the easiest and best option, eh?
Stig: Good article for a morning read. Put a smile on my face.
Mosquitobrain: Hey Ramesh, please add this into your wish list - 'Lost'. It's a taboo to mention this four-letter word. We've practically lost everything. From state funds to aircraft engines to guns falling into seas.
We've witness detainees lost but found dead in government premises. Also lost, the mysterious disappearance of MH370 and lately the marine patrol boat. If this list goes on, we've nothing more to talk about.
Chipmunk: Excellent choice of subjects. Only the right-minded Malaysian will understand what Ramesh meant (unless you want to also ban the "right-minded, positive thinking" Malaysians. Laugh out loud (LOL).
Peacemaker: Please add bicycles to the banned list - because of these contraptions we have to import gum to patch those falsely punctured tyres.
In one stroke, we can stop the glue-sniffing habit and seditious talk of the terrible state of the nation's roads and in some places, non-existent roads.
Dearpixel: Ban red lights. The red light confuses a lot of motorcyclists around here. They look uncertain whether to stop or not. Keep just the yellow and green so everyone can go at their convenience.
Dearpixel: Yes, things that confuse the rakyat should be banned. I am always confused by insurance policy documents, sales and purchase (S&P) agreements, road signs, budget speeches and logic.
Msian1st: Once we ban religion extremism and racism, everything will be okay in Malaysia. But from what I see, Malaysia wants to continue religious extremism and racism. And we all know why.
Ginie: Ramesh, you missed one very important ban. That is, all politicians should be banned from holding public office, unless they declare their properties, shares and stocks. This should also include their immediate family members. May Allah bless you.
Hot Khong: Ramesh, lucky you only mentioned MIC and not Umno, for mocking the latter can earn you a sedition charge.
Anonymous #00830595: Brilliantly said and makes much sense. Well done Ramesh, even my fellow Australian buddies had a good laugh.
Appum: Add another word that will earn you a police report - 'eliminate'.
Anonymous: You forgot to ban one important thing - female homosapiens. Whenever, wherever and however the appearance of such species in our society, it always arouse the sensitive part of certain people and make them lose control. And they will start turning into wild animals.
Anonymous_3f6d: You missed the 21 st - Soon they will be calling you!
