YOURSAY 'The nation is on auto-pilot and it shall soon make a hard landing.'

PM’s Dept takes the cake with highest-ever spending

Negarawan: Najib Abdul Razak is spending extravagantly, but the outcome for the nation is more racial and religious tension, more economic suffering for the rakyat, more corruption and mismanagement, plunging standard of education, increasing crime rate. Only the Umno politicians benefit through wasteful government contracts and spending.

Joe Lee: Whatever Najib inherited from his father certainly does not include being frugal. He is spending money like there is no tomorrow. P

erhaps this is the epitome of our culture. Relax and enjoy now - who cares about the future; who cares about the poor - just throw them the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) crumbs!

And why not, we always have the very useful pendatangs who will ensure that there will always be some taxes coming into the coffers. And if they complain too much, we'll unleash Isma, Perkasa, and Geng Melayu Tiga on them.

And if our own Malays have predisposition to vote opposition, we'll gerrymander the opposition seats. Our Umno kampung Malays of 6,000 will get a Parliamentary seat; the opposition can have a seat with 130,000 pendatang electors. Sweet!

Rosmah Mansor and I will live happily forever - we'll use our very spacious Airbus 319 or Boeing to frequent our choice destinations in the very classy parts of Western Europe! So lovely! Malaysians can eat cake!

Kazakh: Will I be charged with seditious intent if I were to ask our PM to list down what he is planning to do with all the billions that he has allocated to himself (PM's Department)?

Swipenter: Najib says it is a sin for us to let our future generations pay for our debts. But under him our national debt has reached stratospheric heights. And many economists are sounding the alarm bells and have even labelled us as the riskiest country in the region because of our ballooning both national and domestic debts over the last few years.

Guna Otak: Can anyone remember who was the person to tell Malaysians to "change our lifestyle" when costs were rising fast a number of years back? The person is now still having the biggest budget in the government. Talking about leadership by example!

Gotcha: What’s the point of Malaysians becoming a high-income nation when the value of money continues to drop? It was better with low-income, I got my breakfast at RM2 rather than paying RM5 with high-income.

Ourvotesdecide: The dividend given by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is very low, only 5-6 percent at the most. And the Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) unit trusts like ASN, ASB only given 6-8 percent dividend annually when private unit trusts funds can get/pay dividend of more than 10 percent. Something is very wrong somewhere.

Either those appointed or who sit on the investment board or panel of EPF and the PNB are just incompetent; or are they are allegedly colluding with those Umno politicians to cheat the EPF members and also the bumiputras who most invested their hard-earned money in the PNB Unit Trust Funds.

Multi Racial: Never mind, there will be enough idiots to praise the PM for his ‘Good Budget’. That why if Malaysians don't step up to vote for change, this country will slowly and surely be pushed further back.

We used to be among the strongest economies in this region. Now Singapore is beyond reach and the rest of AseanN is about to overtake or have overtaken us.

This is from the economy angle. If you look in other areas like education, judiciary, security and racial harmony, you will be shocked to discover why while others are moving forward we are moving backward.

The National Civics Bureau (BTN) has caused so much harm to the country. Perkasa and Isma are tearing the nation apart. And now you-know-who wants this country to be divided.

Ex-PJ: Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate rises will be an annual affair to pay for the PM’s Department.

Well Thats Fantastic: Seems like there is no fear of a collapsing oil market?

Anonymous #19098644: Just reduce the budget deficit by reducing it back to the 2003 level. The nation is better off, the rakyat is better off, the deficit is smaller and the corruption and waste is drastically reduced.

Axolotl: So much money poured into endless underhanded and below-the-belt attacks against the Pakatan Rakyat state governments of Penang and Selangor - and a 16-year campaign to thwart Anwar Ibrahim's ambitions. No wonder the country is fast sinking into the cesspool of Umno Baru politics.

MA: The expenditures of the PM’s Department should be called the sin tax; not liquor or cigarettes.

Fair&Just: The firepower are with them, they can do what they want. Won't be long now. After so many decades of abuses, corruption, cheating, plundering and pilfering, Nature, the universe and even God will demand reckoning and may even have started, what with the losses of planes, ship and perhaps followed by disasters to achieve equilibrium again. Poetic justice.

Man on the Street: Is the Prime Minister’s Department (PMD) the nation's plundering department? Plunder! Plunder! Plunder!

Doc: Not bad. My prediction came true for Budget 2015. PM’s Department and Permata's budgets get significant boosts. My reasoning for the budget increase:

1) PM Najib is expected to make more international tourist/shopping/working trips. Permata needs to invest in trying to get Rosmah more hero awards. Where is the money coming from?

1) GST mah

2) Petrol price will surely go up again.

Clearwater: The pictures say it all - PM Najib rubbing his hands in gleeful anticipation for yet another year frittering away taxpayers’ money. As for Big Momma, she's got her forefinger pointed at Najib reminding him of her share.

Spirit of Malaya: Let's sit back and relax with a cup of coffee - leave the rest to our able PM! Trust me, the nation is on auto-pilot and it shall soon make a landing - but put on your seat-belts because it's going to be a hard landing!
