Some don’t need a 'Stupidity Act' to act stupid

YOURSAY ‘If this Act is implemented, 75pct of the cabinet will go to jail.’

Vell Paari: Enact 'Stupidity Act' to rescue Malaysia

Unafraid: It is as clear as daylight that racial and religious bigots in the country are given the liberty to dictate the supremacy of their religion almost at will. Anything that is perceived as against Islam or Ketuanan Melayu is deemed seditious, as if the feelings and sentiments of others are secondary and do not matter.

If this increasing trend is not checked, it will generate more anger among the non-Muslims and the very foundations of tolerance and moderation so dearly advocated by our Founding Fathers will be eroded. The ruling authorities better take cognisance of this danger before it gets out of hand.

Continue-The-March: Hello, MIC’s S Vell Paari, this is one of the smartest rebuttals I have heard from MIC for a long time. Where were you when all the imbeciles were rumbling away? Honestly, we miss the day when your dad would stand up and ask some of these stupid folk to ‘Shut up’. Well done.

Malaysian 1st: The Tourist Development Corporation has got a new job to do. Check, scrutinise all pictures, videos, etc, produced to promote Malaysia. Ensure nothing 'insults' the weak faith ones. They are easily shaken or confused. No more 'Malaysia Truly Asia' please. It’s untrue - meaning false statement.

Relevancy: Really see some hope left in some sensible and enlightened people in BN on certain issues. Please do keep up with the moderation for Malaysia.

Clearwater: We don't really need a Stupidity Act. As it is, a certain type of Malaysian can be relied upon to act stupid without the requisite legislation.

Speak for all: The beauty is that even water need a halal logo. Very soon petrol will also need such a logo, ha, ha. What is happening to Malaysia? It is getting scarier by the day to live in! It reminds me of the movie ‘Planet of the Apes’.

Ramesh Rajaratnam: If the suggested Act is implemented, 75 percent of the cabinet will to to jail.

AJ: The Stupidity Act will snare a lot of people. We may not have enough places to lock them up. Of course, the lock-ups should have a gallery where they can be viewed and laughed at. At the moment, they may not know how many people are laughing at their stupidity.

Anonymous_3e86: BN's plan is now starting to unfold. What's happening is that now PAS has been sounding extremist in their opinions while BN leaders are sounding more moderate. PAS has fallen into Umno's trap on the hudud issue, which has swayed voters towards BN. If PAS keeps harping on hudud and racial issues, it will lose more support from the non-Muslims.

Odysseus: Perhaps the Tourism Ministry should put up signs saying "Melawat Tanpa Was Was" at tourist attraction spots so that people with sensitive minds can visit without any worry.

Tan Kim Keong: Vell said, Paari. Keep standing up against bigots, racists and imbeciles. Take them head on. You spoke so simplistically and intelligently against these imbeciles. But I don't think they even desire or want to understand. They can't because their views are the only views of the world. And it's a very closed and cocooned world.

Headhunter: Vell Paari, you said it all. This leaderless country is being run into the ground by mindless fanatics who are bent on destroying it. Even the Muslims are not spared by them.

Appum: You see, we can have some intelligent talking inside BN, but sorry to see only from a component with little influence. Nevertheless, it shows how stupid the major component part (representative) can be. Vell, why don't you convert and perhaps you will stand out like our ex-PM and one day you can be PM. Hey, treat this with a sense of humour, I am just joking, lah.

Tok karut: Well said. Batu Caves is known for the Hindu temple and the association with Thaipusam festivities. It is almost synonymous with the culture of ethnic Indian Hindus here. Stupid that Malays and Chinese in BN did not rise to the occasion to remark on this. It has to come from an Indian, Hindu and MIC member. I wonder if a draft mock Stupidity Act would be considered "seditious". It is a fun exercise for a lawful one.

Anonymous_1399517796: What if the halal logo is on every food packet/bottle/can? The packet/bottle/can will be also discarded after use!

Pisasu 7: Thanks man, good one. After drinking the water, some may be confused... he, he, he.

Hmmmmmmmm: They are now confusing a tourism promotion with religion.

Ksn: Vell, good one from you about the Stupidity Act. But, we may not need it. As a nation and with these leaders running the country, we are already stupid to the sober Malaysians and the outside world.

Theeyes82: Very good insights. It’s a brave statement but I hope this change in strategy is for good and not to secure public confidence for personal gain in politics. I loved reading your comments. Maintain this momentum, sir. It’s needed during these trivial times in Malaysia.

Bury lynas: Good suggestion. Malaysians are sick and tired of the increasing number of idiotic political henchmen who get paid to create disharmony, using the taxpayers’ money.

Mohican: Whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. I am amazed by the lunacy of the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM). Indeed embarrassing.

Anonymous #36950150: I like the idea of the Stupidity Act. We will be the first country in the world to have this Act.

Abasir: Vel Paari, A Stupidity Act (like meritocracy) would be highly discriminatory and racist. Dr Mahathir Mohamad will tell you why.
