PARLIAMENT Umno lawmaker Azalina Othman Said has reminded civil servants not to be arrogant when discharging their duties.

She said there are instances when it is difficult to meet civil servants, who seem to be busier than the prime minister.

“We as members of Parliament find it difficult to deal with civil servants.

“Imagine how difficult it is for me to deal with the chairperson of a (government) agency, it is easier to meet the PM than to meet that person (civil servant),” she told Parliament.

According to Sinar Harian , Umno’s Pengerang MP threw in a Malay proverb, telling civil servants not to “bersikap lebih sudu daripada kuah (don’t overstep the boundaries).”

Azalina also called on the minister overseeing the civil service to go to the ground and have a word with his subordinates regarding their work culture.

She said the minister should advice them on this matter.
