Heartened at ‘Eminent Malay’ Farida’s words

YOURSAY ‘It appears that ladies are the backbone of wisdom in this country.’

'Eminent Malay' lashes out at Perkasa, Isma

Mr KJ John: Well spoken, former Malaysian ambassador Noor Farida Ariffin. You have my support and those of all public servants who are not racists or bigots.

We served the public interest and never just one ethnicity. Those goons do not understand that.

Royal Orchid: "It is better late than never... the sun reappearing from the milky sky."

It all boils down to two camps, those apple polishers and seeking monetary benefits and on the other side of the road, those who live by their principles and believe in fair play.

Terima kasih, Allah, there are still good Malays alive in Malaysia. Meaning, there is still hope.

Ratbatblue: Again, it takes a lady to speak out. Where are the others? It appears that ladies are the backbone of wisdom in this country and are the ones who have the courage to stand up and be counted. It is no wonder that males form a minority of university admissions here.

What this lady said was all the more true - educationally decrepit, introspective and chauvinistic thinking and bravery in numbers - these are the unmistakable characteristics of these fringe lunatics.

And may I ask, what is wrong with the colonial education system? It was a darn sight better than what is being dished out nowadays.

Not Confused: I have been waiting for such a long time to hear a group of Malays such as this to stand up and voice out what I am convinced are the views of the vast majority of Malays in this country.

I am truly heartened reading what Noor Farida has said on behalf of the others in the group.

I think Malaysia desperately needs a focus group of moderate Muslims to do as she has suggested. Otherwise, it is abundantly clear that Malaysia will inevitably become another Pakistan or Afghanistan within a very short time.

I am speechless with admiration for their views on the unchecked advance of the right-wing imbeciles that seem to rant on endlessly with nothing more than bigoted drivel.

Watchtower: That is what Noor Farida said about these two groups (Perkasa and Isma):

“This is because these two groups clearly have low standards, are poorly educated, intellectually challenged, incapable of seeing their own racism, intolerant, blindly obedient and are destroying the fabric of our country’s society,”

If these two disagree, argue your points. Don't blare out your stupidity like asking ‘what you have done for the Malays’. Hello, where have you been?

And like commenter Kim Quek says, our BN government have been bankrolling their activities. Talk about how far off the BN government is taking our nation.

It’s time to sit up and be concerned about this. It is not funny anymore.

Tommy: As expected, any logical or rational answers from these groups would mean the elephant has climbed the tree. By the way Isma, what is your contribution to your race besides creating hatred and disunity?

As everyone knows, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is coming and everyone will have a tough time, including the Malays.

So what is your super-duper idea to help them through this difficult period? Please share with us. Or is it too 'pening' for Isma?

Appum: Thank you, Ma'am for speaking out for all of us who are horrified at the rate our beloved country is spiralling out of control.

May your ‘Eminent 25' continue to make yourselves visible and be heard. As you are not politicians, the government should realise that you have no self-interest but are only doing so for the sake of the country.

Sirach: The ‘Eminent Malay’ group has done the nation a great service by speaking out for what the silent majority of Malaysians believe in.

It is a sad but true fact that demagogues like Perkasa and Isma make headlines simply by the ugly rhetoric they spout. They get support for their gutter-sniping from big personalities who should know better, an ex-PM and a couple of retired senior judges being the chief culprits.

The tragic shift rightward of Umno Baru in the face of this unrelenting pressure is the result of weak leadership, for which PM Najib Razak is solely responsible. It's about time he showed some backbone.

Nonbeliever: The good Indians and Chinese cannot be 'Eminent Malaysians' because they will be arrested and charged with sedition. What do they do? They migrate when the opportunity appears.

Indeed, if the good Malays keep quiet, it will be too late.

Mavelikara: “The difference between genius and stupidity is; genius has its limits.” - Albert Einstein.

I am 66 years of age and I have finally understood what he meant. Thank you, Perkasa and Isma.
