YOURSAY ‘Yes, we all know how this investigation will end.’

IGP says police will probe 1MDB report

S lumdog: I really don’t for a moment think that the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) has the intellectual capacity or capability to investigate, what appears, to be a complex web of loans, off-shore transactions and financial shenanigans perpetrated by government-back investment fund 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad).

The end result, like all investigations into the government, its agencies or PM Najib Razak will result in no further action.

This conclusion will be arrived at due to lack of evidence, lack of corroborating evidence, or better still, simple denials of any wrongdoing by 1MDB or Najib, which will be given undue weight.

As standard operating procedures require, PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) will question, bully and harass Batu Kawan Umno division vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan and charge him with sedition.

RCZ: Yes, we all know how the investigation will end. I even question whether the commercial crime unit is equipped to unravel international dealings by 1MDB in Caymans, United States, The Netherlands, etc.

Furthermore, anchor banks such as Malayan Banking and RHB are involved. Are the police going to seize documents from these banks? Are they going to allow the banks to crash?

Are they going to question the Bank Negara governor what is happening here and the actual debt the country is in?

After all, the governor has been praised as being a capable leader and should be able to answer all questions regarding 1MDB from the police and the rakyat. Why is the governor silent?

Imanust Nais Yalam: The more publicity 1MDB gets, the better. There is no other outcome but 1MDB going bust as it continues to default on loan repayments.

Malaysians will again end up paying for this scandal, as they did for PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone).

Even ordinary Umno members will get upset by this wanton corruption. Malaysia will soon experience an economic downturn worse than the Asian Financial Crisis. Be prepared.

Kangkung: The cleaver is ready so let the show begin. Najib shouldn't feel bad as Musa Hitam, Ghafar Baba, Anwar Ibrahim, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi - all suffered the same fate in the hands of the sly soon-to-be nonagenarian.

Touche: The police chief has got to be joking. This is like asking the chicken to ‘jaga’ (guard) the wolf.

Where is the transparency and integrity of investigation? We all know it will be marked ‘NFA’ (no further action).

The investigation must be left to the true professionals from audit firms such as PwC or KPMG.

Sa Tombs: Ha, ha, ha, the PRDM will investigate with the cooperation of the Attorney-General’s Chambers? I need to grow another leg as PRDM’s memory is very short.

Remember what happened to former CCID chief Ramli Yusoff when he went to the then PM with his investigations on former Malaysia Airlines (MAS) chief Tajudin Ramli?

Not only were lies spewed about him but he was also dragged from court to court on trumped-up charges . His lawyer was also mercilessly persecuted.

When the AG was sued, who came to his defence? The super duper lawyer of private investigator P Balasubramaniam's SDs (statutory declaration) fame. Ring a ring o’ roses.

Luckily the IGP did not say that he will personally conduct this investigation as it involves billions of ringgit.

WeLoveDemocracy: "His police report ignited speculation that perhaps a move is being orchestrated within Umno to oust Najib."

Who else? Take a wild guess, shall we? DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) or TDM (Dr Mahathir Mohamad)?

I would guess it's the evil doc who is behind all these. He is trying to clear the path for his son to reach for the crown.

Anonymous_3e86: Najib's days as PM may be numbered, but so too is Khairuddin's as Umno division vice-chief and Umno member.

Or is this another sandiwara? I hope that it is indeed the moderates in Umno coming out to steer this country back to the correct path. But I am still not convinced that Umno will change for the better.

What's happening within Umno is an imminent power shift, which happens every now and then, just like what happened to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Then it will be back to the same old Umno - corrupt as ever.

Anonymous_40f4: Soon Khairuddin will turn around and withdraw the report and apologise and praise Najib. Najib is very good at making "deals" which is hard to resist.

Caripasal: When nobody is responsible for a death of a detainee in the police lock-up, what is the crime of corruption?

Onyourtoes: IGP, you mean another probe like TBH (Teoh Beng Hock), KLIA2, Sabah illegal immigrants, Altantuya Shaariibuu, PI Bala’s complaint, and PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone)?

Do your CCID people know what is hedge fund, may be they think it is hedge for fun?
