Just when we thought 2014 was over, mishap #3
YOURSAY ‘ Bad karma? It's just not working out for Malaysia.’
AirAsia boss: This is my worst nightmare
Kickstart
: This has been a terrible year for Malaysia in all respects. One plane has gone missing without a trace. Another was shot down half a world away.
And now another one seemed to have crashed. Never mind it's Airasia Indonesia. The parent company is Malaysian.
Three major aviation disasters for a single country. Never heard of before. And to top it off, unprecedented flooding in several states has displaced almost 170,000 people.
Government revenues are shrinking. The Ringgit is crashing too. National unity and morale is at an all-time low. And the year is not over yet. Bad karma? I don’t care what it is. It's just not working out for Malaysia.
Storm : Oh no not again! God have mercy!
Axolotl : Simply incredible... just when we thought 2014 was almost over.... #3!
CQ Muar : This can't be true. Ought to be an explanation in view of the bad weather. May God have mercy and ensure the safety of all on board. We pray for Your Divine intervention and care that all are well. Amen.
FellowMalaysian : QZ8501's crash is the third major air disaster that our country has suffered - all within the span of this year alone.
Our blighted country has also been inflicted with other major catastrophes that can be considered as happened as a result of natural disasters. The entire Klang valley's 10 million residents suffered a critical water shortage crisis for eight months since January.
Then the east coast states were inundated with massive floods and the weather has still not shown any let-up so far. In short, five major misfortunes have lashed our shores and its people even before the year ends.
Could all these happen as a result of mere 'negative serendipity'? Surely five major disasters will 'vindicate' that it is not just a coincidence and the Law of Probability could hardy provide any plausible explanation and neither rational thinking nor empirical modelling seems to provide any logical reason. The answer could only be explained through religion.
Just think back of the major issues and unpopular actions taken by the authorities and the government that has so indignantly offended its people recently. When half of its population consists of non-Muslims, the intrusion into the practices of other religions through government interventions and so called state laws has greatly disrupted the public's confidence in the freedom of practice of religion.
Why was our PM not in the flooded areas where he was needed most and spend time mingling with the victims? He was busy playing golf with Obama then and could not 'let the opportunity slipped'.
The five retributions are just warnings unleashed by the Almighty that God is unhappy with Najib Abdul Razak and his government and his cavalier demeanour showed that he is abusing the people's trust in him. This is a time for redemption and making amends and to seek God's forgiveness.
Tony Fernandes tweeted, “As your group CEO, I will be there through those hard times”. Najib when he received news of the east coast flood situation replied, “I am kept posted. Muhyiddin Yassin will take charge”. Which one do you trust?
Imanust Nais Yalam : FellowMalaysian, the largest retribution on Malaysia has yet to come. It is called 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Fair Play : Tony Fernandes, your woes have just begun. Come Monday, the financial market (stock market) will be relentless in attacking your listed entities. Jittery investors would abandon them in droves. But the right-thinking rakyat would be with you in this moment of tragedy.
Sleepy : There would be some investors selling as expected but I see this as only temporary because of six factors that is going for AirAsia.
1) The lower jet fuel price globally
2) Tragedy happened when stock market was closed
3) Almost full capacity on plane
4) Until now, the crisis management has been good
5) Low-key holiday period
6) It happened to a subsidiary, not directly to the parent company.
Pisasu 7 : God bless, hope there are survivors. Watching TV, the Indonesian top brass involved give far more confidence, they take ownership that it's an Indonesian plane and doing their best. Keep praying.
Versey : Indeed, it's not right nor fair to blame anyone at this point of time when nobody has any clue of what exactly has happened other than knowing that the flight has lost contact with the air traffic control (ATC).
Let us all unite together and pray for the safety of the plane and all on board of the flight. May God help us all, particularly the family and friends of those on board of this flight to be patient and remain calm while waiting for the latest news.
Vijay47 : Guys, perhaps we all call for a truce? At least for the moment let us focus on prayers or keeping fingers crossed in the hope that all ends well for the flight. We can restart our usual whacking and speculating some other time.
Ksn : I join Vijay47 in prayers that the plane and the passengers are safe. I also pray for the victims of our floods and that they are safely home with families soon. On the government's part, no effort should spared to reinstate them with adequate compensation, help to restart their lives.
Abasir : A sensible suggestion from Vijay47 that should be heeded by all.
Sa Tombs: Perhaps we should deploy our brain surgeons who were monitoring the mishaps to MH370 and MH17 to observe how Singapore and Indonesia handle this situation. Also send Rid One Tea to be the soothsayers in Singapore and Indonesia and see whether he can ever return to pollute Malaysian soil again.
CiViC: I normally hold back on negative comments, but this is getting out of hand. Those idiots commenting on MH17, bad luck for Malaysia, Isma, Perkasa, Ridhuan Tee, government, Pakatan, BN etc, please go slap yourself and look in the mirror just to confirm you got the slap right!
If you have nothing nice to say, shut up! At times like this, whether it is Malaysian flight, Indonesian flight or Singaporean, all we can do and need is pray for them, not some smart-ass remarks and finger pointing.
Grow up!
