It's not about Rosmah, but our tax money
YOURSAY ‘We’re concerned about our tax ringgit being used to ferry her around.’
'Why fuss about Rosmah's absence?'
Mushiro:
Former information minister Zainuddin Maidin (Zam) is becoming irritating, especially when he missed the point completely.
None of the critics were asking for PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor's presence, but they were more concerned about the government's assets that she could be misusing.
Zam is too focused on former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assignment to destroy Najib Razak that he is overdoing it.
Anonymous_1395755523: Looking after the flood victims is the responsibility of the PM, not his wife. Rosmah is right in being away.
Why should she bother when that is her husband's job, not hers? She is the first lady of Malaysia. Everybody ought to know that. Her well-being comes first, not that of the rakyat’s.
Sirach: Zainuddin is surely taking the piss out of Najib with his over-the-top blog posting. The giveaway line is when he describes "the sympathy, seriousness and sadness etched" on Najib's face.
I'm no face reader, but I do get the sense that Najib sometimes tries a little too hard to put on the appropriate look that the occasion calls for.
When he seemingly rages at the Umno Baru assembly, he tries out his demagogue mask. In a tragic situation, like the floods, the slightly overdone look of compassion surfaces.
It sounds a bit wicked, by my impression is that this is a guy who's trying way too hard to look natural. In straining for effect, it just appears a bit artificial and put on.
But in fairness, all politicians are actors; Najib, however, fall squarely into the B-list.
Onyourtoes: See how a half-baked former minister tried to spin an irrelevant issue in the public space?
Hello, we don't care whether she is here or in Indianapolis or in Timbuktu, okay? Just don't use our money for holidaying.
We don't care how Najib’s face looked like either, just like we don't care how many times AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes said sorry. What for, the tragedy has already occurred.
Just tell us why and how such tragedies happened, why the help came so late. The rest is not important.
Rosmah is not missed by us, and she will not be missed. We only miss our tax ringgit being used to allegedly ferry her around on endless holidays when she holds no executive position in the government.
Umno group claims 'Najib-brand rice' pix fake
Peacemaker: I am deeply shocked that the flood-struck people of Kelantan were denied a chance to feel eternally grateful to Najib by being given a packet of rice without his photo on it.
It is nothing but pure sabotage by the opposition and the leader of the opposition must be held responsible for this deprivation against the people of Kelantan.
It is indeed seditious to think that the rice was not donated by the BN government to these suffering people. I hope 1,000 police reports will be made at the flooded police stations by the 770 members of Perkasa.
Equatorial Man: The photo of Najib may or may not be faked - I have no way of knowing. But there is one thing I know.
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob did try to defend the appearance of the picture on the rice bags when the matter was initially brought up. He said that the rice bags with the picture were not an issue so long as they reached the flood victims.
If the photo was faked, I could not see any reason for such a defensive remark. I could also not see why several days were needed to figure out that the photo was faked.
Hplooi: I think the ones with Dato' Lan (Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub) on the rice packets are confirmed real. And Dato' came out with guns blazing when the story first broke.
A Real Fake!!: Umno has to change in order to win back the backing of not only the non-Malays but also that of the Malays. To begin with, Umno must learn how to be honest - that is, not to lie but to tell the truth.
Umno has been telling new lies to cover the old lies. Basically, they have never been honest to the rakyat. How do you expect the people to believe you when you say that someone faked the photo of Najib.
Abasir: Didn't a minister in Najib's cabinet say that there is no issue with his leader's picture slapped on to the rice bags? If the rice has cooked (nasi dah jadi bubur), what is the point in denying it now?
Gen2: If blogger Syed Akbar is a true Muslim, he would stand by the pictures he uploaded instead of deleting them. Muslims are exhorted to tell the truth and not give false evidence. Hiding the truth is also considered giving false evidence.
Sleepy: The real issue is not immediate (food aid) but later (building life, property, infrastructure). Unfortunately the problem is only beginning. So everyone please cooperate and work together.
