To stay in Pakatan, PAS must oust Hadi

YOURSAY ‘The future of Pakatan looks dim if Hadi continues as PAS president.’

'Hadi no longer in love with Pakatan'

Kim Quek: The single biggest contribution PasMa and its president Phahrolrazi Zawawi can make to PAS, and by extension, to Pakatan Rakyat, is to help the progressives to take power from party president Abdul Hadi Awang in the coming party election in a few months’ time.

There is no time to lose in working towards this objective. Unless Hadi is replaced, PAS will suffer a devastating defeat in the next national election, and Pakatan’s journey to Putrajaya will be so much more challenging.

Anonymous_1419577444: Hadi still lives in medieval days and thinks he is a supreme ruler of sorts who has absolute authority. Sitting around the same table with minions like Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang will degrade his stature.

Two years have passed since the last GE and Pakatan top leaders have not even met once. This should not be allowed to continue if Pakatan wants to be a viable alternative government to BN. Hadi and his kind is like a cancer eating into PAS and Pakatan.

My suggestion to PKR and DAP is to rebuild Pakatan immediately, without PAS. They do not need to kick out PAS, just plan their strategy as if PAS is not a member of Pakatan.

The next GE is three years or less away. The longer PKR and DAP sit around and wait for Hadi, the less the chances for them to take Putrajaya.

Dont Just Talk: Should PAS continue to have Hadi as president of the party, at best PAS might still get to rule Kelantan if Umno Baru fails to capitalise on the flood situation in the state.

Should PAS break away from Pakatan, all seats will see a three-way fight and the winner will be BN.

Bumiputeri: This is the truth: PAS would have never got to where it is today if not for Pakatan.

Fairnessforall: Hadi and PAS can go and fly kites. The non-Muslims do not trust this party any more. Before the election, it promised that it would stop demanding for an Islamic state but would implement a welfare state instead. But after getting the votes, it started the whole Islamic state charade again.

Pakatan should break off from PAS because if in the next election, Pakatan lets PAS stand as part of it, I am sure it will lose those seats. I for one will not vote PAS.

Hang Tuah: I totally agree with PasMa president Phahrolrazi. He is spot on. Voters want to see a strong and united coalition to form the next government and also who is the incoming PM.

It's better either Hadi leaves PAS or PAS leaves the coalition. Let them join Umno.

Appum: Idiotic loyalty is destructive. In any journey of great challenges, there are always obstacles. The solution is just to remove such obstacles and move on.

If Hadi is the obstacle, then what is so difficult in removing him? Work to remove him. If PAS is the obstacle to Pakatan in its journey to Putrajaya, then remove PAS. It all boils down to political will.

Mamba: Hadi has single-handedly destroyed all our hopes of regime change in the next election. He is the culprit.

Datuk Iskandar Shah: What do you expect from PAS? It is a religious and its leader is aligned to Umno. It is the end of PAS, same as when they backed stabbed Semangat 46. When Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah pulled out from coalition, PAS collapsed.

Well, Hadi would rather support corrupted people than align with those who fight for a cause. Good luck, Hadi.

The Analyser: It beats me how anyone could still see any future in a coalition of any sort. All that this Pakatan exercise has achieved is to show that:

1. Different parties cannot work together.

2. There are a few good men in politics, but they are massively outnumbered by the incompetent and the corrupt.

3. There is not a real leader in sight, only men who think they are.

4. There is no future for a political party with no vision, no common goal, no clear agenda and which doesn't regard all Malaysians as equals.

Was Hadi ever in love with PKR? Or did he just see the association as a stepping stone to an Islamic nation?

Was Anwar Ibrahim ever in love with anything but his lust for revenge? And what about DAP? What did they want to achieve by getting into bed with PAS?

Fair Play: Who really cares who Hadi is in love with? PAS is much bigger than a hundred Hadi. But sadly PAS, as a political party, is akin to the leopard that could never change its spots.

As a right-thinking member of the rakyat, if I have my ‘rathers’, I would love to see PAS gets booted out for posterity from the Pakatan coalition and, instead, they should welcome PasMa - the new PAS.

Whatsup: Hadi has not completed his mission yet - to totally destroy Pakatan, and bury PAS, so he can't resign.’

Proarte: Let's cut to the chase. Will the PasMa president confirm that he unequivocally supports the secular nature of our governance and constitution and will not support or promote an Islamic state?

Can he please make a statement to that effect? Otherwise, "it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." (‘Macbeth’ by William Shakespeare.)

Anonymous #70881335: It is sad that PAS has come to this. The aspirations of all Malaysians that a two-party system will emerge in the democratic process in this country will be set back a few years.

But it will come, as all Malaysians aspire the day that an alternative party to Umno-BN will rule Malaysia.
