The Terengganu Islamic and Malay Heritage Council (Maidam) will continue to be on the alert for members of the public, especially youths, who behave indecently in public places.

Other areas of enforcement include nabbing individuals riding motorcycles with pillion riders who are not muhrim (not related), women wearing indecent clothes, and men in women’s clothes.

According to Terengganu Syariah Enforcement head Mokhtar Salleh, Maidam would be working with other enforcement bodies such as the police and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to detect offenders.

He was speaking to reporters after a Chinese New Year enforcement operation jointly conducted with the JPJ and the police in Kuala Terengganu today.
