YOURSAY ‘The million ringgit question is who will his replacement be?’

Will sixth PM survive his sixth year in office?

Appum : To all the Umno cybertroopers and grateful supporters, let me tell you this: the BN model of race-based politics is no more relevant in this era. MCA, MIC, Umno and all the ethnic parties in Sabah and Sarawak forming the BN coalition are dying creatures, and have become unattractive to Malaysians of today - especially the intelligent young ones.

What is more acceptable will be the model of parties like DAP, PKR, or even Gerakan, that encompasses all Malaysians.

Unfortunately, DAP has been continuously labelled by Umno as a Chinese party - which is obviously untrue. The attacks on DAP are so vehement because it is clearly gaining ground to every intelligent observer of politics.

BN, with a weak leader now helming it, will die sooner than expected. The internal rumblings and lack of support given to its weak leadership in order to survive the day, comes as no surprise.

Ah-hah!!!: There is a mighty debate going on in my mind as to who has actually been the worst prime minister that Malaysia ever had - Najib Abdul Razak or Dr Mahathir Mohamad?

And another personal debate on whether I would feel happier to see him or his other half, Rosmah, go when they are both booted out of Seri Perdana.

Aiyah... how happy I would be to see them out of power, together with all the assorted sycophants and intellectually-challenged loudmouths associated with them.

Anonymous$&@? : Yes, this is the worst PM ever, but I don't see anyone better coming from Umno.

Doc : Getting rid of Najib is not the problem. The million ringgit question is who will his replacement be?

So far, Umno has no potential leaders who are neither corrupt, nor capable of leading the country, re-building a tattered social structure and economy, have political will, able to control Umno's warlords and sharks, able to reign in religious nut jobs and most importantly, have at least some brains.

Oh Ya ?: Whether he can survive as the PM is the least of the raykat's concern. The rakyat at large are worried about whether the country can survive as a thriving independent country.

Whoever takes over from him is still an Umno guy who carries the same Umno DNA of racism, religious bigotry, corruption and cronyism. The country needs a regime change, period.

KnockKnock : Quote: "Questions also abound as to whether the Umno division leaders meeting to show solidarity with Najib on March 8..."

Answer: Has Umno’s history shown otherwise? Who dares to put the bell on the cat's neck, other than opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim?

Kim Quek : The jailing of Anwar was Najib’s fatal mistake. By that one cruel stroke, he has lost whatever remaining goodwill he might have due to the public’s reluctance to see him replaced by a Mahathir puppet.

As it is, Pakatan is now going all out to unseat him, come what may.

With internal rebellion, as unmistakably signalled by the cabinet’s rejection of the RM3 billion bailout for his pet project 1MDB, his steep ride towards oblivion is now on the cards.

Anonymous #19098644 : There is nothing wrong in having non-bumiputeras on the board of 1MDB. However, a look at the board members shows that five or more of them are all Chinese from Penang who are the father of Jho Low, or close friends and colleagues of his family.

This is obviously nonsense, even if the entire board is Chinese - which it shouldn't be for a sovereign fund company - why is there such a heavy concentration of businessmen from Penang?

Do you mean to say there are no qualified Malaysians - be it bumiputera or non-bumiputera - outside of Chinese Penangites? So, who is pulling the strings actually?

Petronas just suffered its first ever quarterly loss of over RM7.3 billion. Najib’s popularity rating of 44 percent in spite of lower oil prices and countless 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) handouts just tells us that this politician is out of touch and out of favour with the rakyat.

Kamal19 : What about Felda tanking? There’s another catastrophe in the making.

Senior : He will go as the finance minister... but might stay as the PM till the next election in Umno Baru.

Dalvik : Ask your conscience: Abdul Razak Hussein was our second PM for less than six years, yet was recognised as the Father of Development. What about our current PM? Looking at this article and looking at the condition of our economy, what title does he deserve?

I personally think he has brought us many taxes and the highest-ever national debt. Perhaps, he could be the Father of Economic Reform?
