How much was Malott paid? With 106,000 votes

YOURSAY ‘Phantom voters, and now phantom petition supporters.’

White House petition restored, hits 100k target

Anonymous_5fb: Anyone who has lived in Malaysia for a period of time would realise how blessed the country is. We have relatively lesser natural disasters, plentiful of natural resources, its people are friendly (except those playing dirty politics) and so on and so forth.

Former United States ambassador to Malaysia John Malott and his family know all this during their stay in Malaysia, and I would say they love our country very much. But, alas, due to dirty politics of we-know-who, our country is declining in every aspect of our lives here.

When Malott started this petition, I signed it without hesitation. And I prayed that we will achieve the target set, and not surprisingly, we did.

Thank you very much, Malott.

SteveOh: The White House petition initiated by Malott is about Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim but it goes beyond Anwar.

His plight is seen by many as the plight of a country and its besieged justice system. The process of justice is in serious doubts with allegations of political interference and conspiracy.

Anwar now serves as a symbol of miscarriage of justice and abuse of power. No matter what people say, that is the reality based on their observations of the proceedings and circumstances surrounding his case.

To all fair-minded Malaysians, the judiciary in Malaysia is under a cloud. The maxim 'Justice must not only be done but seen to be done' has become meaningless.

The police sadly have not been able to act independently because of the alleged interference. Justice for Anwar is justice for a nation now under world watch.

John Malott is to be commended for his petition. Now it is up to the White House to live up to its reputation as a bastion of democracy and do what is necessary.

Boeyks: There are phantom voters, phantom killers and now even phantom petition supporters. Only in Bolehland can these ‘phantoms’ spread in all fields to lengthen their stay in power.

I wonder how many of BN’s 47 percent are really valid voters. The Sabah royal commission of inquiry (RCI) has acknowledged their ghostly presence, but unfortunately it has no solutions and unable to find any perpetrators.

Anonymous_1371455474: How much you being paid, Mr Malott?

Goldee: Dear Anonymous_1371455474, Malott was paid with 106,000-plus votes. That's what Malott was paid for defending the democratic rights of all Malaysians, including you.

CQ Muar: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Mr John Malott, sir.

For an American to show so much love for this country is a rare gift, which gave it more meaning for the trouble you went through to achieve the number of required signatures.

In return, we wish you and family good health and lots of blessings from the Almighty.

Korkor: Although my signature is just one among the 100,000, I am so glad it did helped and we looked forward to more positive news and soon we may even see Anwar being released.

Thank you, John Malott. My treat to a meal of ‘bah kut teh’ on your next trip to Kuala Lumpur.

Behsaikong: My appreciation to Malott, It showed that his bond with Malaysians did not end with his tour of duty as ambassador. His personal show of concern for the state of democratic processes in Malaysia is commendable.

Democratic values are not bound by national boundaries. There are universal values subscribed to by the human race as a whole. Protests of interference across national borders do not hold.

There are some fundamental human rights which national borders cannot keep out. Indeed if I do something wrong, I can't tell my neighbour to mind his own business.

Wandering Star: Over to you, Mr US President. Malaysia has a vibrant democracy?

How do we deal with the tainted judiciary, supported by all the corrupted institutions in our blessed land? Selective clamping down on fair-minded Malaysians and silencing them with our notorious repressive laws.

Sorry, Mr President, you may not have time to play golf if we were to furnish you with all our woes and grievances. The list starts from the shore of Malaysia and reaches one of your favourite states, Hawaii.

To Malott, Malaysians owe you a great deal, words could not describe your relentless fight for true democracy in Malaysia. You earned the respect of all 53 percent of decent Malaysians who voted against the Umno-BN regime.

FairMind: Doesn't this episode show to the world that Malaysian general elections and Umno rule for the past 58 years were obtained through the same fraudulent means?

In every aspect, the grip of power by this present government and at every level of administration has gone through the same means - gerrymandering and fraud.

Dalvik: This petition war reflects the exact situation in Malaysia - 107,287 vs 12,070 as of 9.15am Malaysian time.

It tells a lot who is the majority and what those 47 percent of voters in the 13th general election (GE13) really mean.

Wira: As usual, BN must cheat to win any popularity contest.
