The wife of the Pahang crown prince has closed down her Instagram account after her earlier post which some considered was a subtle jab at prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor.
Tunku Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah, who once used the handle tengkupuanpahang on Instagram , had posted a photograph of her lunch which she captioned: "There goes my diet… Oleh kerana nak bayar hairdresser mahal, saya hanya mampu beli nasi bungkus! (Because of paying my expensive hairdresser, I can only afford nasi bungkus".
The caption immediately set tongues wagging among netizens as it appeared to be a reference to a recent gaffe by Rosmah.
Last month, Rosmah courted flak during a talk on the goods and services tax when she lamented that it would cost RM1,200 if she wanted a home service hair dresser to dye her hair.
Many netizens had argued that the amount was preposterous for a mere hairdo, pointing the country's minimum wage - instituted by her husband's administration - is RM900.
Tunku Azizah Maimunah's posting garnered over 1,000 likes, drew a raft of comments from her followers, who among others, said: " Siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas ."
The old Malay adage means those who are in the wrong will suffer the consequences.
This was subsequently picked up by the media but Tunku Azizah then deleted the earlier caption and replaced it with a simple line: "There goes my diet".
