Shahrir: Hudud vote may 'go by conscience'

Voting on the Private Member's Bill on hudud, if presented to Parliament may go "according to the conscience" of the lawmakers on the BN side, with no specific directive given to them, says BN Backbenchers Club chairperson Shahrir Samad.

"My feeling is that it will probably be a conscience vote. No directive has been given on how you should vote (if such a bill is tabled)," Shahrir told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
