Kita Lawan plans to stage another big rally on Saturday outside the Sogo shopping mall, where it also plans to "celebrate" the marriage of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's daughter.

PKR leadership council member Fariz Musa said the protesters may march to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

"We might march to KLCC to 'celebrate' the wedding of Najib's daughter, but I assume there will definitely be barricades all around.

"We however plan to converge from three locations - Masjid Jamek, Dataran Merdeka and PAS headquarters - at 4pm this Saturday," said Fariz, who is also a member of the Kita Lawan organising committee secretariat.

On March 28, Najib’s daughter's wedding reception would be held at the iconic KLCC.

Kita Lawan organisers believe that the coming rally would be bigger than the one held on March 7 , which saw some 10,000 people taking to the streets to press for the release of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and Najib's resignation.

Focus now on GST

This time round, Kita Lawan's plans to shift the focus to the "greed" of Najib's administration with regard to the goods and services tax (GST).

Apart from calling for Najib to quit, Kita Lawan also wants inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's head to roll.

"Ever since the Kita Lawan rally on March 7, the PM not only failed to give a satisfactory response towards the demands of the youth, he has also kept silent on issues the public is facing," said PAS Youth treasurer Mohd Fakhrul Razi.

An example, Mohd Fakhrul said, Putrajaya was buying a new luxury jet for the prime minister during a period when the people are forced to tighten their belts due to the GST, which comes into effect on April 1.

"When a group of citizens demanded answers on GST, not only was nothing explained to them, they were instead abused and arrested. This seems like a harsh warning to the people not to question the implementation of GST," he added.

Asked if Kita Lawan has obtained a permit for the rally, both Fariz and Mohd Fakhrul said they did not request for one.

"There is no point in requesting for a permit because the outcome is the same,” said Mohd Fakrul, adding that police are expected to take action.
