Selangor exco member in charge of sports have urged Putrajaya not raise a ruckus over the state's decision to adopt "#KitaLawan" as its motto for the 2016 Sukma games in Sarawak next year.

"We've used ' ini kali lah ' in 2013 before and we did well. They didn't make any noise before," Amirudin Shari told Malaysiakini .

The phrase " ini kali lah " was an often used anti-BN slogan, originating from Sabah, during the run-up to the 13th general election in May 2013.

The actual phrase used by the Selangor Sukma team was " Kali inilah ".

The National Sports Council (NSC) and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports M Saravanan have urged Selangor to refrain from using "#KitaLawan" as its sports team motto because it was political in nature.

Amirudin's response that the NSC and Saravanan were being overly sensitive without a valid reason.

"What we have done is launched a logo and slogan. This is just three percent of our preparations. Things might change before 2016.

"So for now, I don't want to waste any time on the critics. I will focus my attention on developing sports in Selangor and preparing for Sukma," he said.

Kita Lawan is an umbrella term for a protest movement which have held rallies every Saturday in Kuala Lumpur since the jailing of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim on Feb 10.

Thus far, the movement has transitioned from calling for Anwar's freedom, to a movement calling for the inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's sacking and the abolishment of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
