IGP, there’s no need to go off at a tangent
IGP says Sirul desperate, dares him to tell all
Aries46: What is there to challenge convicted murderer Sirul Azhar Umar when the inspector-general of police (IGP) has not responded to his initial challenge?
Why try to deflect the real issue? Show the proof that police had interviewed or investigated him while in detention in Australia because he says the IGP is lying.
And why not open up his original 'confession statement' and proof Sirul wrong because he says the one tendered by the police was falsified?
If the IGP is unable to take up his challenge, it literally mean that Sirul’s accusations may have some justification.
The IGP must at least reveal what was their motive to commit the crime as former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad himself said recently that Sirul was not known to murder anyone when he was in the former's security detail.
Sirul may have strong reasons for not spilling the beans similar to why the authorities are unwilling to call key witness Musa Safri to testify or establish the motive for the murder.
May be he feels frustrated and victimised by the trial findings that was in fact criticised for its many loose ends.
Malaysia Ku: The IGP didn't answer Sirul's claim that no police went to Australia to question him. There is all there is to it.
No need to beat about the bush and offering an unprofessional challenge to Sirul. So did you lie, IGP?
Odin: Sirul, IGP Khalid Abu Bakar said, "From what we have gathered in his outburst (sic) thus far, he has offered us no new leads that would have absolved him of the crime. Therefore, we would welcome his challenge to spill the beans, if he has any."
I have to agree with him, regardless of whether he has lied. You have been doing nothing other than keeping people on tenterhooks by giving the impression that you have incriminating evidence. You even failed to participate in the teleconference organised by PAS MP Mahfuz Omar recently.
The latest we hear is that your mother would whisper into Mahathir's ears. Whisper what? The recipe of her sambal ikan bilis that she cooked for you? You have zero credibility.
You have expressed no remorse whatsoever for having brutally murdered Altantuya Shaariibuu and blasted her remains into near nothingness. You deserve no sympathy, at all.
The only way you can redeem yourself is to finger the party or parties who ordered the annihilation of Altantuya - and to do so right now and not in the next century.
Abasir: With Mahathir's revival of this scandalous cover-up, it looks like none of those involved will sleep well at night ... and that includes all accomplices, both in the murder as well as those who assisted and continue to assist (by omission and commission) to protect the guilty.
None of them will rest in peace. The evil they did will continue to haunt them ... till retribution arrives by land, air or sea.
Negarawan: One thing the IGP needs to learn is that justice is in God's hands, not his. The Malaysian people are not oblivious towards the dubious and inconsistent manner in which Altantuya's case was investigated and adjudicated.
Without a clear motive and many remaining questions about the case and who was/were really behind it, Altantuya will remain in the Malaysian public psyche until there is credible and complete closure.
Altantuya's violent and brutal death was not only mourned by her family, but it has hurt Malaysians in general, and brought international disrepute to the Malaysian judiciary and police.
Mahathir has his political reasons for re-opening the case, but even if he did not do so, Altantuya will continue to haunt the conscience of all those responsible for her death until justice, or karma, or whatever retribution, is served.
Wira: IGP, no need to go off in a tangent. It is very easy to prove Sirul wrong. Just produce the video recording of your officers meeting him in Australia. Otherwise, all of us here are going to believe that Sirul is telling the truth.
Abbn: I believe Sirul. What motive did he have to carry out the assassination? If he had acted alone without his boss knowledge, how did he get the explosives which are a highly secured material? How can there be no investigation into his claim?
On whether the police interviewed him in Australia, easy, ask the Australian authorities. They can be trusted more than our own.
Cuci: It's interesting time. I hope the Australian media are not asleep. The Australian media can easily put this "I say, you say" episode to rest by verifying with the authorities at the detention centre there.
Rupert16: The statement by the Twitter and handcuff-happy IGP confirmed that he indeed lied about Sirul being further questioned by the police in Australia as he was talking about Siril's desperation and not even bother to deny what Sirul said on Saturday.
Needless to say, Sirul is indeed desperate to save his own skin and we can only ask that he takes up the IGP's challenge to reveal who ordered him to kill Altantuya. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Fair Play: Who is more desperate, the IGP or Sirul? But then, the IGP dared Sirul to reveal all. But of course, Sirul will no doubt do so, at the right time and at the right place, now that Dr M has come to his defence.
And why didn't the IGP give an answer to Sirul's insinuation that he lied about sending police officers to take a statement from him (Sirul) in Australia.
Headhunter: I wouldn't challenge Sirul if I were the IGP. His intimate knowledge of the murder could bring the whole government down. Khalid has just given PM Najib Razak the excuse to sack him.
WDA: Dear IGP, you are not denying Sirul's claim that you lied about sending officers to Australia to talk to him. If Sirul has proven you to be a liar, how do you expect us to trust you or anything that you utter?
If you know Sirul very well, and you think you have an airtight case, please give us your best shot on Sirul's motive for killing Altantuya. Even a hypothesis will do.
We are all ears and we are waiting. Okay, a tweet will also do.
