Black box data reveals that Aidana Baizieva, the mystery passenger on board the ill-fated helicopter that crashed on April 4, was assisting with the aircraft's flight, New Straits Times reported today.

 

Six people were killed in the crash near Semenyih, including Rompin MP Jamaluddin Jarjis ( below ) and the prime minister’s chief private secretary Azlin Alias.

The English daily quotes a source as disclosing that the daily data from the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) revealed that Aidana was actively involved in the flight operations.

 

This was based on her conversations with the helicopter pilot, Captain Clifford William Fournier.

 

Selangor police chief Abdul Samah Mat previously told the media that Aidana had wanted to be a pilot, and had accompanied Fournier on several flights.

 

The NST source disagreed that Aidana was allowed to fly the aircraft, but he did not blame her for the crash.

 

Instead the source said, investigators had strong grounds to believe there was an explosion onboard the helicopter before it crashed.

 

"Based on investigations at the crash site, investigators concluded that some parts of the helicopter were blown off in the explosion," the source said.

 

All communications failed when the helicopter began its deadly descent.

 

All the passengers had been silent for a few minutes before the crash, and only their breathing was recorded on the CVR.
