Some people just can't resist showing off

YOURSAY ‘If it’s from their own hard-earned money, then let them be. But is it?’

Dr M's 'lavish Rosmah' jibe too hot for print

Anonymous_1421406986: Some cannot resist showing off their wealth, but what do we have to say about a person who has not only enriched himself, but also ensured family members are given special preference for positions and instructing wealthy corporations to bail out their ailing businesses?

I only wish PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor stops displaying her wares and to stop placing her husband in an unflattering position. She must also exercise prudence when advising people from humble background.

Fateh: The old man seems to have just woken up to the lavish spending of the spouse of his ex-cabinet minister, who is now leading the country.

Her spending spree has not changed from before, now and probably into the future. Why the fuss now, old man?

Flycatcher: Rosmah is not using your money, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, or the  rakyat's money. She can afford to buy whatever she wants.

Raja Chulan: If one is lavish with one’s hard-earned money, then it is one’s right. But if they are lavishly using money stolen from the rakyat, then they can get lost.

Iban Fighter: Mahathir’s wealth is the one that should be questioned. He finds fault with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak but this is just to cover up his own wrongdoings.

Anonymous #70881335: Two wrongs do not make a right. Even if Mahathir is corrupt, and I am not saying he is, does it mean all the subsequent PMs are allowed to be corrupt? Najib and Rosmah must set a good example.

Abu Hurairah: The PM's family has to be spared and not targeted in political bickering.

Mahathir is using dirty tactics attacking Najib’s family members. He should not do this. Najib’s family members have their right to live the lifestyle they choose.

Keanjin: Now is good time for the PM and wife to sue Mahathir.

Muhyiddin stresses on importance of truth

CQ Muar: Muhyiddin Yassin, being the deputy prime minister, your innuendos are highly telling.

You have of late clearly shown where your loyalty lies, and the reason for doing so. No one needs to gaze into the crystal ball for an answer to read your mind.

Even your speech insinuated your dreams and aspirations as speculated by majority of the rakyat.

In any case, whatever the fate of this country might be when the dust settles, we hope you will not back pedal on your words. We, as rightful citizens of this country will help you recall and recollect should that happens.

HardTruth: Please be bold if you want to be the PM. Then again, what inspiration can we possibly get from this man?

Anonymous_1421406986: I wonder if he is reminding himself that he must always speak the truth, or he is asking former Dr Mahathir Mahathir to look into his heart, for there is no truth to the accusation, and not to pursue the issue further.

If Muhyiddin knows the truth as much Mahathir, then there is the possibility that others might also know it, and they have a collective responsibility to the country, to expose the truth.

Why keep the answer lingering like a serial drama, for months on end?

Vijay47: Muhyiddin, being a leading member of Umno, perhaps you should not speak about virtues you are not familiar with.

Shibboleth: Dear Minister, truth is elusive and to give truth to those who want it not, is to give them multiple reasons for misinterpretations.

Anonymous_3e06: Mahathir lied repeatedly to the citizens of the country. However, you can play politics. The winds are changing directions, so go with the flow.

By the way have you, Muhyiddin, spoken the truth and honoured the truth of the federal constitution?

Proarte: Well, Najib has overstayed his welcome on the Umno gravy train.

Umno can be likened to a gang of pirates. In order to continue to rape and plunder effectively, the booty must be shared in order to buy loyalty.

Mahathir is merely reminding Najib of the code of honour, or more appropriately dishonour, among the Umno pirates.

Najib has had more than his fair share of the booty, so it is about time he moves on, so says the Mafia boss, Mahathir.

It is Muhyiddin's turn for a bite at the cherry. If Najib plays ball, he can rest assured that Umno will absolve him of all the crimes he is now being accused of.

After all, pirates and Mafia members do look after one another.
