Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is scheduled to address the nation on the annual reports of the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) at 8pm tonight.

Najib tweeted on this, adding that it was the practice of a government which is transparent and responsible.

The reaction, however, may not have been what he desired.

The first response from the twitter user @MusGanu69 read: " Semoga Allah menjatuhkan pemimpin zalim (May Allah cause the downfall of cruel leaders)."

Another complained of how the price of Dutch Lady milk has gone up from "RM 3 something to RM6++" in Daro, Sarawak.

Stranger still, one twitter user, @FloydRamones asked the prime minister, whom he referred to as "bro" to help erect a telephone pole outside his house.

" Bro, rumah saya takde tiang telepon ni. Boleh tolong setel tak? (My house has no telephone pole. Can you settle this?)"

Another user who uses the handle @The_Mamu said since the report card is out, "when is the session for parents to meet the teachers? Who do we scold for the poor performance?"

Another user, @iAmAreyap said it would be better for Najib to be transparent in action as opposed to words and writings.

Describing the premier as someone who is "loved and not lonely", he asked when Najib planned to answer the issues surrounding 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

@NajibRazak Telus dalam tindakan lagi bagus dari tulisan atau percakapan tau Datuk Seri yang dikasihi dan tidak berkeseorangan. 1MDB biler??

@Momor4v griped that while the people are told to be prudent, leaders are chalking up electricity bills in the tens of thousands.

Najib has come under tremendous criticism from the opposition and former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the 1MDB issue and his personal wealth.

Pundits are wondering if the prime minister would take subtle swipes at the former premier during his television interview tonight.

In a pre-recorded interview on TV3 earlier, Najib alluded that the rift between Mahathir and him started because he refused to build the crooked bridge connecting Johor and Singapore.
