Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin is concerned about the future of this nation, and is seeking answers from the top leadership.

In a Facebook posting today, he also touched on business tycoon Jho Low ( photo ) and Rosmah Mansor, though he did not mention the latter's name.

"There have been many unanswered questions [...] Jho Low is seen smiling here and there. Why is he so 'invincible and untouchable?" he asked.

"Meanwhile, the international media has reported non-stop about the extraordinary wealth of a certain woman. Is this true?" he added in an obvious reference to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife.

There have been news reports on the lavish lifestyle of Najib and his family.

Asri ( photo ) also aired his reservations about the purchase of Tun Razak Exchange land by Tabung Haji .

"It is reported that Tabung Haji will purchase (land) from 1MDB at an exorbitant price. [...] I have asked my friends in the government. (But) there have been no satisfactory answers.

"I am worried. This is not about party politics, I am not an opposition supporter. But this is about my and my country's future.

"I hope the country's top leadership can give an answer that will ease the people's worries. Take pity on us," he added.

Tabung Haji today confirmed it will be buying a plot fo land from TRX for a discounted price of RM188.5 million.

The plot of land, sold for about RM2,779 per square foot, will be used to develop serviced apartments.

An anonymous blog which broke the news however claims that 1MDB had originally purchased the land from the government for just RM90 per square foot.

According to reports from 2012, 1MDB had purchased the land for RM74.2 per square foot.
