If delegates pick Umno's puppets, PAS is finished

YOURSAY ‘Without Pakatan, PAS is nothing. If you support Umno's puppets, you're finished. Choose wisely.’

Nizar: Are we to choose Umno puppet instead?

Kim Quek: To the pro-Pakatan candidates: It is better to call a spade a spade. There is no need to fear PAS president Hadi Abdul Awang’s supposed popularity in the party.

If you continue to pretend to support Hadi just to avoid antagonising the delegates, you will never get enough votes to win the election.

Since you think Hadi’s faction is so overwhelmingly popular, and you are going to lose anyway, what greater loss can you suffer by telling the truth? Go for broke in the last remaining days.

Blare on top of your voice: Hadi has already lost the credibility and trust of Pakatan. If he is elected, PAS will have to leave Pakatan.

Once out of Pakatan, PAS’ hard-earned electoral support from non-Muslims and moderate Muslims in GE12 and GE13 will be reduced to near zero, and the party will be wiped out in GE14.

On the other hand, if Ahmad Awang and the pro-Pakatan faction are elected to lead PAS, Pakatan will be re-united and rejuvenated. Such an energised Pakatan will practically walk into Putrajaya with the current state of chaos, disunity and corruption that Umno has found itself in.

To the delegates to Murtamar 2015: PAS’ fate, nay, the nation’s fate is in your hands. The votes in your hand can change the course of history. Vote wisely to strengthen Pakatan to take over the government, and Malaysians will be grateful to you – for generations to come.

Desperate for Change: Members of PAS, this is the reality. Without Pakatan, PAS is nothing. If you support Umno, you're finished. Choose wisely.

Ksn: Good question for Hadi and PAS members to ponder and answer, former PAS Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin. I hope those voting will use the same rationale to vote for the sake of Malaysia.

FutureMalaysians: Nizar, with you around and as a PAS leader, Pakatan is in a strong position.

Lim: If Hadi Awang wins, PasMa will be there to back Pakatan

Spirit of Malaya: Hadi is history. A progressive PAS is for all. If the delegates choose to deny the progressive faction, it's doomsday for PAS. PasMa, made up of progressives, should instead join Pakatan Rakyat and move forward.

Wee Khen Peng: Don't quite understand, it's as if only PAS can take care of Muslims. PKR and DAP both have Muslim supporters. You will get the public's support if whatever you doing is fair and right. You need not worry about the afterlife.

Jaguh: Nizar glad to see you back. The likes of you are what we envision PAS to be. Not those who believe in Hadi. Kick him out.

Onyourtoes: PAS progressive leaders must be bold to educate their followers. It is time to bring them out of ignorance that has shackled for years. Many people are using religion to subjugate their people.

To me this is the greatest tragedy of this country. When I look at ignorant people, I think they do not know they are being enslaved.

Hang Tuah: Pakatan must progress. PAS delegates must choose whether they want to progress or stay with Hadi, and be made use of by Umno. Moderates are the reality of the day in this century and there is no place for extremists in this multi-racial country.

Return the moderates and Pakatan will progress and walk to Putrajaya, come GE14. Vote for extremists and we will see the breakup of Pakatan.

Ipoh pp: Nizar, my hat’s off to you. As an Ipoh resident it was a really the fresh morning sun shining into Ipoh when you took over the administration as MB.

We had a cleaner Ipoh, you were honest in spending our money and also council workers were on their toes. It was so easy to meet and speak to you at the council office.

No need for formalities and appointments. It’s sad how you were ousted, and so cruelly. I still yearn for your return to administer the state of Perak as MB, god willing.

Peacemaker: PAS should not forget that DAP fully supported them for the MB’s post in Perak and stood behind it strongly during the MB crisis and court cases.

The non-Malays voted for PAS in the last two general elections because of other Pakatan members i.e. PKR and DAP. No single non-Malay vote was given to PAS on their political struggles/policies/ ideologies on even believing in Hadi's leadership; in reality the non-Malays voted PAS because of DAP and PKR.

They strongly believed in DAP and PKR. Under Hadi's leadership, PAS can forget non-Malays votes in the next GE. Without DAP and PKR, PAS will be dead soon, especially under Hadi.

Hearty Malaysian: Is Hadi having a short memory that he forgot Najib and partners literally took away the Perak government from PAS? DAP had proved a reliable partner during that crisis.

Hadi has been bought over by Najib judging from his supportive stand for the latter. It is up to the PAS members to choose if they want to join Umno as partners in crime or to kick out BN, in particular Umno in GE14; PAS just have to clear the deck to go forward, Pakatan or collude with Umno.

Anonymous_1421406986: Nizar says Umno is weak, with a divided Umno, with its members supporting different factions or leaders. But how is PAS any different with its members confusingly divided?

So how will DAP profit by siding with PAS? Stop all the bickering and put your party together and then think about working with other parties.

It is not right for Nizar to voice his comments until PAS members have decided between the ulama or "others" in the coming part election.

The Final Encounter: Bravo Nizar. You could not have said it more precisely. It appears the blind followers of the Hadi are immune to reality and political truth.

Having PAS in its present mood is not an option for Pakatan to thrive healthily, the religious party needs overhauling, surely not by the ulama.  But do the progressives have the support?

Dont just talk: PAS party under the leadership of Hadi is like a frog swimming in a slow boiling pot of water. Very soon and without realising it, the party that is in the comfort zone, will suffer a slow death. Terengganu was once under Hadi's leadership, but after being a one-term mentri besar, he was booted out by voters.

He is good only at implementing hudud, which brings no benefit to all Malaysians of various race and cultures. Kelantan state will follow suit after GE14 when Umno recaptures it from PAS and in urban and sub-urban cities, PAS will lose big time too if PAS still has ulama leaders like Hadi.

Snake-in-the-grass: Nizar is in Reality Land - the other is in Fantasy Dream Land

Doc: I always thought Nizar was a rising star in PAS after his short stint as MB of Perak and especially after his fight to hold on to power for Pakatan in Perak after the frogs in Pakatan leapt to BN.

Since then he seems to have faded from the limelight. Glad to see he is back in PAS politics and I hope he still has the fire in him to move PAS away from Hadi's path of destruction for both PAS and Pakatan.

Haveagreatday: High five to you, Nizar. Sadly, I believe PAS is in the grips of the Umno puppets.

An Umno-backed PAS or Pakatan-backed PAS?
