Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today vowed that criticism on his leadership will never distract his administration from implementing the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP).

Talking to the civil servants today, Najib said they must spearhead the effort to bring in more investment to promote growth for Malaysia to become a high-income developed nation.

"We do not allow anything to distract us from developing the country.

"We need to be a pro-growth government. Need to practice and implement policies which will lead to medium or high growth rate. With no growth rate, we will face a lot of problems," he spoke briefly at Putrajaya.

He added that with reduced revenue, job opportunities and investments, it would be hard to distribute wealth of the country to all.

Attacks on 1MDB and GST

Najib's administration has been hit hard with all kinds of accusations spearheaded by former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad who attacked the prime minister of his own choosing in 2009, through blogs and social media.

Mahathir has been lambasting Najib's allegedly excessive spending and questioned the 1MDB and Goods and Services Tax (GST), among others.

However, Najib who has been going through a nationwide tour to drum up support, was suprisingly quiet today and did not go too much into politics.

He just outlined the five main philosophies to ensure the success of 11MP - growth, people, business, environment, and nation building.

Najib said it is the job of civil servants to establish a good government delivery system in making sure every target can be achieved with the plan.

"Don't be an obstacle. We must help to achieve an ecosystem, including a government delivery system which is pro-business. Because if the nation is developed, the investment increases and everyone will stand to benefit," he said.
