A Johor conspiracy against Bugis warrior?

YOURSAY ‘The Bugis warrior's fate is fast drawing to an end.’

Johor blue blood vs Bugis warrior blood

Saphire: The people have questions PM Najib Razak umpteen times but were treated with disdain.

MPs Rafizi Ramli and Tony Pua question him almost every day. They were just ignored by him.

Now it is His Royal Highness (HRH) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim who has expressed his disgust at Najib's no show at the dialogue by making the best statement ever on Najib:

“It was obvious that the prime minister would not turn up for a dialogue dubbed 'Nothing to Hide' when he has much to conceal."

The prince has said it. What are the ministers waiting for? It is a shame that it takes a prince to tell Najib off regarding his duty to the former's subjects.

God truly bless HRH, for he knows that if 1MDB goes wrong, his subjects suffer. With this in mind, let us pray that more members of the royalty would support the Tunku's concern.

When the royalty speaks, Najib will tremble.

Justine Gow: Writer RK Anand, are you suggesting that the Johoreans might have been conspiring against the Bugis warrior from Pahang?

There may be some truth in this. Initially, when the warrior agreed to attend the forum, I had thought that organiser Sukaguam would have done its best to shield him from "nasty" questions by inviting only his foot soldiers to participate in the forum.

The presence of Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his supporters seems to suggest that the warrior may have been betrayed by one or more people whom he thought were on his side and close to him.

The wounded warrior is now recuperating high up in the clouds in his luxurious jet on his way to the Middle East .

Who knows he might stop in Astana to live permanently with the descendants of the true Mongol warriors if he suddenly feels that no one in Malaysia is on his side?

CQ Muar: With such negative views from the Johor crown prince, the Bugis warrior's fate is fast drawing to an end.

Coupled by the former premier's pressure, the Bugis descent PM is certain to be routed. Najib had his fair share of glory and luxury, but nothing is eternal. More so, if those material pleasures are derived by fraudulent means and at the misfortune of others.

The obvious question remains: Can Najib hold the fort right through his sixth year, which he has vowed to do? Surrounded by endless accusations and scandalous remarks, can the Bugis hero sustain the onslaught?

Lionking: Why is speaking the truth so difficult for BN politicians? Lies after lies are being fed to the rakyat and how long can this go on?

It looks like Malaysia is in serious trouble with the various credit rating agencies breathing on our necks and with the stock market may probably go south together with our ringgit.

Everything seems to be going wrong and on top of that corruption continues unchecked, deplorable education standards, and crimes making life difficult for the ordinary rakyat.

The great fumbling to save Najib's face

Mohican: Najib, who likes to quote Rabindranath Tagore, which he did once at the end of a Budget speech, should have paid heed to his words of wisdom: “Let us not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless when facing them."

I wonder what happened to his warrior traits - utterly diminished, I suppose. All rhetoric and no action. He didn't even have the gumption to debate with a charismatic and prolific speaker like former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Armchair Newspaper: This isn't just another PR disaster for Najib. It is now evident that he "chickened out" because of one old man.

But it isn't to Mahathir that he had shown his character or the lack thereof - it is now for all and sundry to see how he lacked the courage and political astuteness. I would say we are in for a change very soon.

Anonymous_1419577444: This is indeed the "mother of all fumbles". The Almighty gave Najib an opportunity of a lifetime - the earthquake in Sabah. He could have pretended to go there to "supervise" rescue efforts and at the same time avoided Mahathir.

Imagine what this would have done for Najib's image - a "caring leader” who is first to be in the disaster zone. Maybe Najib should sack his entire PR team and hire me instead.

Vijay47: It would be trite to say that Najib is his own biggest enemy. Everybody knows it except, obviously, Najib himself.

Is he really so out of touch with reality that he believes the presence of thousands of paid supporters is a measure of his popularity? The "no-show" is only the latest of a long line of self-inflicted disasters, there seems to be almost nothing that this man can do right.

To top it all, our prime minister is hardly in the country; after the PWTC debacle, he and his wife promptly fled to Saudi Arabia , no doubt in the new jet, making childish announcements as to how intimately Saudi royalty view him.

The greatest irony must be that he has a huge hotshot PR team advising him. Are they also living in Fantasyland?
