YOURSAY Leaders of the opposition coalition must reinvent the coalition and move on.

So what happens to Pakatan now?

Pahatian: Why is everyone, including DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang, saying that Pakatan is dead and no more? Without PAS, Pakatan still exists, albeit less one member party. PKR and DAP must carry the Pakatan torch and shoulder on until Putrajaya is within sight. Forget about PAS.

In the next general election, both PKR and DAP can nominate their Malay candidates to fight it out with BN and PAS. There is nothing to lose but more to gain. Let it be a bitter pill for PAS to swallow.

PAS must be ejected from Pakatan at all costs, whatever the outcome of its decision to sever ties with DAP.

Hmmmmmmmm: PAS, the dye was cast the day you betrayed Pakatan by not supporting PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as menteri besar of Selangor, even though it was the wish of your partners.

Now that your members have said, loud and clear, that they do not wish to be in Pakatan, why is there a need to discuss this at a higher level?

Nobody wants you, even if you decide you still want to be in Pakatan. Don't you feel ashamed to still want to tag along where you're no longer wanted? Please have a sense of dignity and leave.

Fairplayer: Pakatan is dead because its president Abdul Hadi Awang dealt it a deathblow. Time to move to Pakatan Baru.

Clongviews: Pakatan is dead. No need for a post-mortem. PKR and DAP and friendly parties should immediately explore and form new alliances to be a strong and trustworthy opposition and get ready for GE14. Better start now, before it’s too late.

Fairnsquare: The only reason that PAS remains in Pakatan, is to maintain its hold on Selangor. With Abdul Khalid Ibrahim flirting with PAS, it can only mean that a fishy conspiracy exists.

The PAS MPs in Selangor should just cross over to PKR, since their voters were for Pakatan and not PAS. Failing this, a fresh election in the state is inevitable, as PAS will start making demands on Pakatan soon.

Swipenter: PKR is in the critical care unit ward, waiting to be pronounced dead anytime soon. So we must be prepared to attend its funeral.

Anonymous: #42582403: With PKR and DAP, Pakatan would be stronger. Let PAS be independent or join Umno and fall together, come GE14.

Alanthechan: Move on, DAP and PKR. Forget about PAS. There is no point to continue working with them after all their back-stabbing. Even if there is a fresh state election in Selangor, let it happen and gauge the people's preference.

If Selangor is retained by Pakatan, there is hope to unseat BN in Putrajaya in the next election. If Selangor falls to BN, accept that people are not ready to accept change. Bite the bullet instead of procrastinating on the matter.

Anonymous_1371509671: The PAS muktamar is over. Did they discuss the 1MDB, GST weakened ringgit and other hot issues?

Dont just talk: Just bury the Pakatan carcass and move along as nothing in life is permanent, except death. If the moderate PAS Muslim intellectuals have the foresight and courage, they should register PasMa as a political party and form a tripartite alliance with DAP and PKR, where all parties share power equally, regardless of how many seats they won in the GE.

Seeker99: Kak Wan should set up the shadow cabinet with DAP and PKR MPs, plus the few PAS MPs who are from the progressive group, such as Mat Sabu and the like. This would definitely cause a stir.

This will strengthen these progressive MPs to quickly form a new party, such as PasMa, to tie with Pakatan and capture Putrajaya come GE14.

After all, the PAS ulama are only interested in implementing hudud in Kelantan and in this case, they can have want they want. I believe in the prophecy of Rahman, after all.

Ksn: With PAS out of Pakatan, Pakatan will do better than in the past to win the next GE. PAS will perish at the same time.

Interested bystander: "What happens to Pakatan Rakyat?" Pakatan will continue on its course. PAS will fade away into oblivion.

The Mask: "The party will remain committed to Pakatan". My dear Hadi, you cannot have the cake and eat it. You are cause of all the trouble and you still want to remain in Pakatan? For everyone's sake, get out and stay out.

Fair Play: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, as a right-thinking rakyat, believes that DAP and PKR, notwithstanding all the hiccups, would be the political parties of the future.

Since PAS had officially passed a motion to sever ties with DAP, the most honorable thing to do is to reciprocate, not to negotiate or compromise to save the coalition. Would you allow a poisonous snake inside your house?

To do so, DAP would lose droves of supporters who elected its members into state and parliamentary constituencies over the years. If I have my way, I would just boot them out, all and sundry.

Lyc: All you PAS progressives, please quit the party and join PKR. That is only wise thing to do to save Malaysia from turning into a so-called ulama nation.

OH YA?: Pakatan is indeed dead. The 53 percent of the voters who voted for Pakatan did not bargain for the daily squabbling, open warfare and hudud.

In the process, Pakatan has completely neglected the people's plight - the GST and the rising cost of living, the passing of draconian laws in the name of security, the racial and religious divides, a weakening economy, high household debts - and the list goes on and on.

And it has totally failed to capitalise on Umno's and the PM's weaknesses as the central stage is now hijacked by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. If Pakatan can even function in the opposition how can the right-minded entrust their future to it?

Anonymous #953466845: I voted for PAS because of Pakatan. Now, what has happened? Always, the man on street is taken for a ride. All these parties; go fly kites. Next time my vote will be ‘undi rosak’ (spoilt vote).

Sincere citizen: Pakatan will be stronger without PAS. PAS alone will eventually die a slow death.

Ablastine: Not so sure kicking out PAS from Pakatan is a plus for Umno. Don't think Umno is stupid enough to take in PAS. Malay unity is just a catchphrase to stir up trouble in PAS.

Umno knows that PAS out of Pakatan is just a stupid ulama party which will not be able to win seats out of their stronghold in Kelantan.

So, why bother to give concessions to a useless party? In any case, Umno knows that if it waits long enough, the hudud ulama will just hang themselves and Kelantan will return to sanity under its fold.

Those who used to vote for the opposition will continue to do so, with or without PAS. It is even better now because Pakatan no longer has to reserve seats for PAS to contest. Pakatan will have stronger representation.

Exranger: The hope to take over Putrajaya from BN is gone. Najib will form a government with the East Malaysian MPs plus PAS.

Mano: When you, Hadi, do not hold integrity as religious as your version of Islam, you are no more the leader we thought you were. Anyway we will not be voting for PAS.

If the moderate PAS guys want to stick on there, we will make sure you will lose your seats. But thank you, the moderates - it was good to see the different aspect of Islam from you.

Anonymous_3e21: Regardless of what the final decision by the 'All Ulama’ team will take, it is better for everyone to move on without PAS. That is what the new team wants and its wish must be honoured.

PKR and DAP can continue with the pact and do their best to help Malaysians survive the mega mess created by Najib & Co. Forget about PAS, for it is only interested in its own agenda.

Having successfully kicked out all the professionals or the progressives, PAS is all but a kampung party, no disrespect to the kampung folk.

On the brighter sight, by kicking out the professionals who have been the driving force of the successes of PAS, they are now available to serve Pakatan better and yes, we Malaysians can look forward to brighter futures.

TehTarik: Pakatan is finished. So are the non-Muslims. As Zaid Ibrahim has said, non-Muslims will be considered as dhimmis . These are the religious minorities in Muslim countries, who pay higher taxes but have fewer rights.

I expect a huge emigration of Chinese and Indians out of the country once hudud is implemented. The ringgit might also hit RM5 to US$1, or lower.

The concept of a secular nation with equal rights for all, as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, will be dead once hudud is implemented. As Jakim states (as quoted in yesterday's Malay Mail Online ), hudud is meant for all Malaysians.

Magic Dragon: If both hearts (DAP and PAS) cannot beat as one, it is better to go separate ways. The sun will still rise tomorrow.
