Hadi divorced DAP to save Najib, says Utusan
Umno owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia claimed that a conspiracy to topple the BN government by the opposition and foreign media may be the reason why PAS has declared it is unable to work with DAP.
In the ‘Bisik-Bisik Awang Selamat’ column in Mingguan Malaysia today, the Malay daily's weekend edition claimed such a conspiracy had toppled Islamic countries such as Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen.
Without elaborating, the writer 'Awang Selamat' claimed the opposition and DAP's strategy was to create a negative perception of the government led by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak ( photo ).
"Awang has found a conspiracy to topple the prime minister involving several opposition leaders, who had met at two neighbouring countries to plan their moves along with foreign media.
"Awang believes that is why PAS president (Abdul) Hadi Awang did not follow DAP.
"Instead he (Hadi) defended Najib (Razak) who he worried was being a victim of conspiracy," wrote Awang, a pseudonym for Utusan 's senior editors.
On Friday, the syura council confirmed severing ties with DAP while maintaining their tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) with PKR.
The decision comes a month after the Islamic party's stormiest muktamar in recent times, in which its progressive leaders were purged from the party's top leadership.
