Don’t turn racists into heroes

YOURSAY ‘Agent provocateurs should feel the full force of the law.’

Papagomo, Ali Tinju and four Low Yat traders held

Anonymous_1421406986: Don't give any racist, whatever their race, religion, position or political leanings, any space to look heroic.

The well-designed comments of Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris (Papagomo) and Mohd Ali Baharom (Ali Tinju) could have incited many mischievous Malaysians to cause havoc over the incident at Low Yat Plaza.

Treat these men as enemies and traitors to the peace and well-being of the country.

If they cannot understand how the incident could have spread and exploded beyond control, then they deserve to be treated sternly by the laws of the country.

In the case of these two ex-guardians of the country, they must be meted heavier punishments. Otherwise, they will surely repeat the same another day. My thanks and congratulations to the police.

Anonymous#007: I would be surprised if Ali Tinju is not given the maximum punishment available under all available laws.

He had every intention to start a racial riot. A quick check of his handphone messages would also determine if Pekida leaders knew about his intentions. As for the four Low Yat traders, it seems unfair to charge them.

I believe anyone of us would retaliate in a similar manner if a bunch of thugs came up to us and threatened physical violence and start to destroy private property that we had built with our blood, sweat and tears.

In fact, if those thugs were my sons, I would personally bash them up for their unruly behaviour that has no place in Malaysian society, no matter what the reason.

Appum: Well and good, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar. To be fair, we shall give you and attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail some leeway to complete your duties successfully.

The laws were clearly broken by these men last week. The sedition laws are very specific and clear. Let see whether these culprits will be dictated by the fair process of the law.

We are watching closely. We are not going to forget. We just want justice. We don't need such obvious racists in this country.

FairMind: Papagomo would not dare to publish all the false news on his blog if not for some strong backing behind him and this is not the first time he has published false news on the internet.

Papagomo and Ali Tinju are just sacrificial lambs in a ‘sandiwara’ (performance) to show the public that the government is impartial.

At the end of the day, it will be just a slap on the wrist for them but there will be a massive clampdown on the social media and public dissent in the near future.

God Helps Malaysia: Papagomo was supposed to pay a few hundred thousand ringgit for losing some law cases. Failing so, he would have to serve jail sentences, I think. He must be doing well, either as a blogger or is someone supporting him?

Gggg: I just checked his Twitter account which was updated this morning. How many papagomos are out there? Amazingly, he has over 30,000 followers.

Dalvik: His Facebook page (Papagomo) must be closed too. Just go and check it out - full of racist remarks and comments inside.

Malaysia Ku: Actually I am more interested to know how he was apprehended. Ala opposition-style or chauffeured in a luxury MPV escorted with outriders?

Anonymous #70881335: The instigators of the Low Yat unrest must be given the full force of justice. Zero tolerance for them.

Speak For All: I hope the IGP and AG will make sure all those arrested will be charged and sentenced for spreading false information and rioting, and injuring innocent people.

Fairnsquare: When the police do the right thing, it is very disappointing to read negative comments. They are doing a good job and it is a good opportunity for the IGP to gain respect from the rakyat. We encourage him to keep it up.

Jho Low High: Arresting them is one thing, it is also how you deal with matters involving racism. So far the government yet to do the right thing in this aspect.

ZhuGeLiang: Ask yourself; why is the US dollar so strong even though the US is a bankrupt country? It is because of political stability.

Likewise, that is our biggest asset too and these two men are going all out to destroy what we Malaysians hold dearly. Worst still, during the holy month of Ramadan as well.

The authorities must really be seen to do something about it. Otherwise, the rakyat will lose confidence in our leaders and the troublemakers will be more bold and daring.

Anonymous #66797900: God is great. Ali Tinju was displaying his backside outside activist Ambiga Sreenevasan’s house, now it’s on fire.

Justine Gow: Isn't this ‘Ali Tinju’ the same guy who caused the scuffle at the venue of the recent Nothing2Hide forum? Can we connect the dots here?
