'No one left to determine Najib's guilt'

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may have repeatedly urged the public to wait for the outcome of investigations before passing judgement but who is there left to investigate?

This is because Najib's manouveres  have paralysed all investigations into the RM2.6 billion allegedly deposited into his private bank accounts, said PAS' Kuala Nerus MP Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali ( photo ) today

"The whole country wants to know the truth behind the 1MDB allegation against Najib. Everyone hopes it is not true but if it is, prosecution must be done.

"But who will determine the truth? The police appear to have been manipulated, the MACC is coming under intense pressure, Bank Negara is silent and the PAC is frozen," he said in a statement.

Earlier this week, the MACC had declared the RM2.6 billion deposited into Najib's bank accounts as a 'donation' and not from state-owned 1MDB.

However, it is still investigating another state-owned company, SRC International, which made another RM42 million deposit into Najib's bank accounts.

The MACC is pursuing the investigation alone after a multi-agency special task force was disbanded following the sacking of attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail.

This is despite MACC investigators being arrested by police and their homes and offices raided on grounds of a 'confidential information leak'.

Instructions to pray

The special task force initially comprised the police, MACC, Bank Negara and coordinated by the Attorney-General's Chambers and were probing the RM2.6 billion allegation.

A separate investigation into 1MDB by the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee has also hit a brick wall after Najib co-opted four of its members, including the committee's chairperson, into the government.

Meanwhile, PAS Selangor today instructed all its members to pray amid the scandals plaguing the country.

"Let us pray that the rakyat and country are always be protected and blessed by Allah," said Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad in a statement.
