Donation-gate grips public despite MH370 'find'

YOURSAY 'There is no need for PM to make the announcement in middle of the night. '

Did M'sia mess up again on MH370?

Sabahan: PM Najib Razak probably thought that by being the first to make the announcement on MH370, he would score brownie points in the international arena. He was probably ill-advised.

These announcements should be left to the experts who are investigating and examining the debris. They will inform the world when they have completed their investigations.

Magnus: Given everything that has gone on with MH370, and what is going on now in terms of the 1MDB scandal, I cannot understand why Najib did not collaborate with the other investigators in France and Australia a little more skilfully and perhaps wait a while until everyone was happy to confirm the news.

Would a few more days or weeks of waiting make any real difference to the families of those who perished? And why make the announcement in the early hours of the morning as if it was an emergency? Truly baffling!

Negarawan: Whether it is about MH370 or other issues, the international community has little trust and confidence in what Najib says.

News about the 1MDB scandal has made international headlines, and the global community has seen for themselves how truth is easily covered up in Malaysia.

When Najib made the announcement of the "major breakthrough", it was not only highly insensitive to the victims' next of kin, but it was also deemed as not credible.

The world would rather wait for the results from the French and US investigators.

Anonymous #2534675: Even business correspondent Richard Quest (from CNN) was having a good laugh at our PM's confirmation in his show. Another mess by Malaysia's PM, again.

Nil: When the MH370 tragedy occurred, Malaysia at first seemed unwilling to disclose information. Now, it is so eager to close the file, while others still have doubts.

Why is Malaysia seemingly in a hurry to sweep the incident under the carpet by making premature announcements?

Magic Dragon: It all boils down to paying compensation to the next of kin, and trying to get away as cheaply as possible.

Najib was in a hurry to see a closure to the MH370 without a firm confirmation from the official French investigating team on the section of a wing thought to be from the ill-fated plane.

His transport minister declared a few more items found on the beach without verification from the French investigators that they were from MH370. He does not even have any aviation qualifications.

These Umno-BN incompetent nincompoops have brought immeasurable shame to the whole nation.

Buttman: The disappearance of MH370 on March 8 last year saved Najib from having to deal with massive street protests following the jailing of former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Now he's using the "reappearance" of MH370 to save himself from being drown by the bottomless cesspool called 1MDB. That seems the most likely explanation for his erratic conduct.

Legit: Najib is an absolute disgrace for Malaysia. He and his team have cocked up the MH370 issue from the beginning.

He is now trying to grasp at anything that he can get to draw attention away from his scandalous 1MDB and the Altantuya Shaariibuu misadventures.

Malaysians have had enough of this man and if he has any iota of shame, he should quit his PM’s seat and get a new team to restore some order and dignity for this country.

Prudent: There are too many unanswered questions. I am not convinced that our air defence personnel manning the radar were as derelict of duty as they seemed to be by their failure to challenge the unidentified flying object in Malaysian airspace.

Their 'dereliction' of duty was matched by the air defences of Indonesia, Thailand and India into which airspaces the aircraft intruded unidentified and unchallenged.

Fair&Just: A drowning man trying to grasp onto any 'debris' of positive publicity to keep himself afloat and dislodge the negative vibes that are pulling him down.

Ukinana: I think it will be proven later that the wing or debris do belong to MH370. However, there is no need for the PM to make the announcement in the middle of the night.

Maybe he's trying to show the people that he works hard.

Clever Voter: Not only are they an absolute liability to the nation's reputation, it's very hard to see them as sincere and trustworthy. No wonder everyone suffers.

Anon1: What can you expect from Ali Baba and the 40 Stooges? It's also an embarrassment for us citizens, as the world thinks we must be really stupid to vote in this incompetent lot.

1malaysia2perak3katak: When the cabinet consists of a bunch of clowns, what can we expect? The circus gets even funnier and BN will end up as the biggest circus act in the world.

Anonymous 2326501438321389: It looks like Malaysia has taken over the role of head clown of Asean.
