DAP has lodged a police report against deputy transport minister Abdul Aziz Kaprawi over his allegation that the party is being backed by Jews.

DAP Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong, accompanied by Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh and Subang DAP Youth chief Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof, lodged the report at Dang Wangi police district headquarters this afternoon.

Last Saturday, Abdul Aziz Kaprawi who is also Sri Gading Umno chief, claimed the RM2.6 billion donated by the Arabs to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, was to fight off the “ Jewish backed” DAP .

According to the report, Teo ( photo ) said that Abdul Aziz's remark was malevolent and could lead to hatred towards DAP.

He wanted the deputy minister to be investigated under penal code, Printing Presses and Publication Act 1984 and other relevant laws.

“Why must he accuse DAP of being sponsored by the Jews? His intention is very clear - he is trying to intimidate all Muslims, make them afraid of DAP,” he said when met outside the Dang Wangi IPD.

Apology demanded

Teo also denied DAP had received any political funding from abroad and wanted Abdul Aziz to apologise.

“We want to emphasise that DAP has never received any funding from abroad, especially for election campaigns. If he has no evidence, I hope he will withdraw his remarks.”

Teo who is also DAP Youth chief, also instructed DAP Youth members in all the states to lodge the same report against the Sri Gading parliamentarian.

Ramkarpal Singh ( photo ) also slammed Abdul Aziz for making what he termed as such false and malicious allegations. “He is a deputy minister, people expect something more from him.”

Ramkarpal said Abdul Aziz could be charged for defamation under Section 499 of the Penal Code and Printing Presses and Publication Act 1984 where not only the publisher, but also the person who made such statements, can be held liable.

He also challenged IGP to take necessary action against the deputy transport minister.

“This is a test for IGP whether he has the guts to take on a BN leader, minister or deputy minister for recklessly making a statement like this, obviously with the intention making up something that is not there. I call upon IGP to take the necessary stern action immediately.”

Meanwhile, Edry Faizal lambasted Umno for always playing with racial sentiments.

“Before, Umno just played racial sentiments locally. Now it seems they want to bring it to the international arena, accusing Jews of evil.”
