YOURSAY ‘The use of parang is an obvious threat and a clear invitation to violence.’
After martial arts display, anti-Bersih group to train with parang
6th Generation Immigrant: This is interesting and it shall be fun to see how the IGP (inspector-general of police) would react to honest citizens when compared to these ‘red shirts’ ruffians.
I do know there are laws in the country against such obvious threats - the use of ‘parang’ (machete) in this case is a clear case of ‘intend’, even though the crime has not been committed yet.
It’s like walking with a loaded gun in Dataran Merdeka. Honest citizens have been remanded for lesser offences. Drivers have been arrested for keeping a parang in their cars for safety concerns.
Truly Umno has lost its plot as well as the respect and support of citizens of Malaysia.
Anonymous$&@?: Indeed, when a person has a parang in the boot of his car, he would be arrested for carrying a weapon.
Now that these hot-blooded individuals have publicly declared that they would use machetes and swords to ‘defend’ themselves, do they mean that they will be carrying these weapons to Kuala Lumpur on Aug 29?
If PDRM neglects to check against them for carrying weapons on that day, then the police force has failed to carry out its duty to prevent bloodshed from happening.
Oxymoronic Tendencies: So everyone can carry a parang for self-defence? Presumably this is okay for those in yellow shirts and red shirts.
What sort of madness is this? Are the police and government really condoning this craziness? Perhaps they want to see a violent clash.
Kangkung: Imagine what would happen if Bersih 4 supporters were to prepare for the day by practising martial arts with parang and issuing threats. Would the police be quietly enjoying the scene?
Ren Ai: If the yellow shirts did the same thing, PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) would have a field day whacking them.
Bamboo: This is certainly an intimidation of Bersih 4 rally-goers. It's truly unfair when those aligned to Umno are allowed to do anything, while students at the peaceful gathering in Parliament were arrested . We really need to vote out this Umno-led BN government.
The Mask: So Mr IGP, now you know who will be bringing weapons to Bersih rally. So don’t you dare accuse the Bersih participants of this act.
Commentable: Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Ahmad Maslan, just to let you know these are the types of morons who are the real culprits out to hamper MITI's work in attracting foreign investors.
They are actually following up on the good work done by your boss, PM Najib Abdul Razak, in demolishing whatever little pride Malaysia has left to win over any would-be investor.
Former BN minister Sanusi Junid is right ; the word 'bangsat' should apply to the Umno leader who led the Malays to the current state - a state that has sunk so low that they have no sense of pride, no honour, and no respect whatsoever for law and order.
The Anonymous: Don’t give Umno division chief Jamal Yunos too much credit. This one will be a no-show. The same happened to Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin during Bersih 3, remember?
Justine Gow: By training with parangs and swords, these red shirt gangsters have expressed their intention clearly. They should be hauled up and put away in prison. What is the police waiting for?
JD Lovrenciear: Your heads are only good for causing serious damage. Don't you think you should be using your heads to think, instead of breaking tiles and wood?
Now, what has the IGP got to say since this group has gone open with their parang training? Is it not an affront to national security? The IGP’s and Najib's silence fuels Bersih 4 all the more.
Anticonmen: I agree with JD Lovrenciear, these guys are showing their utter stupidity in only being able to use their heads for breaking tiles and pieces of wood.
They should be using their heads for thinking about what is right and wrong in our democracy. Pathetic products of the failure of our local education system.
Wira Jamal Yunos: If you are able get 150,000 Najib supporters to attend the anti-Bersih rally, then you can have the centre stage.
There is no need to threaten others with weapons which our members are afraid to use this weekend because 300,000 Bersih participants are going to eat up your 300 supporters.
Anonymous #37634848: If they wanted to mobilise their own force, they can well do it on another day. There is no need to exhibit this show of force and intimidate the rakyat. PDRM, please do something before it gets out of hand.
Anonymous #33227154: Bersih 4 is a peaceful rally. These red-shirts are threatening violence with weapons. Why aren't the police arresting them?
Is this what the government supports - gangsters and thugs to intimidate the people?
Fateh: These pathetic cheap souls are easily bought with just peanuts, while their bosses are getting away with multi-billion loot. The act of stupidity never fails to marvel in this kangkung land.
