Aide: Rosmah attended meeting on ex-SB? Nonsense
The aide of the prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor today denied that Rosmah attended a high level meeting where the decision was made to transfer former Special Branch deputy director Abdul Hamid Bador.
"It is nonsense to say Datin Seri attended such a meeting," Rizal Mansor told Malaysiakini when contacted.
In a Facebook posting later, he said Rosmah was probably implicated by Abdul Hamid to sensationalise the issue.
"The easiest way to sell a story is to link Rosmah," he said.
Abdul Hamid alleged that his transfer to the Prime Minister's Department was the result of his outspokenness on the 1MDB scandal and the government’s alleged attempts to hide the truth.
Yesterday, he asked if the decision to transfer him was made at an " urgent meeting " chaired by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and attended by his wife Rosmah, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and several other top officials.
"If this is true, I feel so insulted," he said in a statement.
He also revealed yesterday that he was at former attorney-general (AG) Abdul Gani Patail’s home for a "discussion" two nights before Gani was removed as AG.
Abdul Hamid asked Ahmad Zahid, who is also home minister, to come clean on whether this was the reason for his suddenly transfer to the Prime Minister’s Department.
Abdul Hamid said "many things were discussed" at the meeting with Gani but did not elaborate further.
