Statements from 15 recorded over missing Morais case

Police have recorded statements from 15 people in their investigation into the disappearance of deputy public prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais, Kuala Lumpur Police deputy chief Law Hong Soon said today.

He said these people were Morais’ housemate, colleagues and family members.

“We will look into every aspect in conducting the investigation,” he told reporters after the monthly assembly of Kuala Lumpur Police at the headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Morais was reported to have been seen leaving his apartment at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur, last Friday to drive to his office in Putrajaya in a grey Proton Perdana bearing registration number WA6264Q.

Two days later a burnt car was found in Kampung Sungai Samak, Hutan Melintang, in Perak. The car was similar to Morais’.

Law said police had yet to confirm whether that vehicle was Morais’.

They were also examining the footage of closed circuit television cameras along the route to work usually taken by Morais, he added.

Police have classified the case as abduction.
