Al Jazeera journo deported over Altantuya murder story

Doc: Instead of deporting Al Jazeera journalist Mary Ann Jolley, PM Najib Abdul Razak should:

1) Ban or suspend Al Jazeera for linking Najib to Altantuya Shaariibuu's murder. This would be in keeping with the suspension of The Edge when it linked Najib to 1MDB.

2) Emulate Egypt and arrest and detain Jolley indefinitely for spreading malicious rumours about the PM.

3) Use the time-tested Umno model in dealing with threats to the PM or the Umno regime - try and buy Mary Ann Jolley off to scuttle her Altantuya Shaariibuu story.

4) ‘First Lady’ Rosmah Mansor should threaten to stop shopping in Australia, which can cause a devastating effect to their economy, unless Jolley retracts her story.

5) And Umno politicians should threaten to stop buying million-dollar houses in Australia, thus sending the luxury housing market in Australia into a downward spiral.

Haveagreatday: The powers-that-be are hiding from the scandals that have dogged the highest hierarchy of power in our country. Unfortunately for the Umnoputras, Al Jazeera is not TV3.

Clever Voter: All of these for the love of money and power. The common denominator is that each of the actors in the plot wants something. This Altantuya story hasn't got a closure but it will probably have one soon.

Tok Karut: The Malaysian government is shamelessly copying Singapore PAP government’s tactics to cripple the media and open debate.

Will these tactics instill nationwide stupor, fear and paralysis for the Malaysian rakyat like in Singapore?

Pisasu 7: Sodomy is a more serious crime than being linked to murder and receiving donations from unknown Arab potentates.

Turvy: We may all have come out of Africa but it will be the Arabs who decide where we are going.

How anyone can think that such brutal killing or the deposits of such huge sums of money will go away? It won’t. It will haunt this nation till hell freezes over and we will all be suspects forever.

Appum: After viewing the Al Jazeera video, one would still ask the same questions - what was the motive of the killers and who ordered the uniformed members of the force to do it?

Can political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda order such a murder? He had warned convicted killer Sirul Azhar Umar not to act beyond his powers as quoted in the video. So who is so powerful in this country who can order such a gruesome murder?

I am sure one day the truth will come out as such sinful act can never be covered up forever.

Nothing is permanent - wealth, power, happiness, sadness, position - the power of karma will take its effect sooner or later, no matter which religion one belongs to. Murder is murder.

Simple Malaysian: So many questions unanswered and as long as they remain so, people will continue to ask them, rumours will thrive, social media will continue to be abuzz, more documentaries will be made.

Does the government of Malaysia understand this? Obviously not. Remember, just convicting the two police officers does not solve the mystery.

Anonymous_1401675508: It is my belief that the killers could not have acted alone.

From the death of Altantuya to the death of the founder of AmBank to the missing deputy public prosecutor Kelvin Morais, it has to be acted upon by a mafia of some sort that have infiltrated our country. God help the citizens of Malaysia.

Res Ipsa: Everything will fall into place once we have a new government taking the helm in Putrajaya.

There are no issues of limitation of time in criminal matters and there have been many cases in foreign jurisdictions where felons were convicted decades after the offence. Right now all those in the know are fearful for their lives to say anything in the open.

Things are expected to change once the PM steps down or is removed from office. Justice for Altantuya can be served once the real killers, who had the motive to order her killing, are brought to justice.

Convicted murderer Azilah Hadri would certainly open his mouth to save his neck since he has been convicted by the apex court. Sirul would likewise follow suit.

The lawyer who prepared the second declaration for private investigator P Balasubramaniam to deny his earlier sworn statement should be grilled to find out who instructed him to do so.

The Immigration Department should be hauled up to explain how Altantuya's entry/exit records were deleted. Let’s hope that justice prevails.

Anonymous 2358311441466692: We also want to know the truth about the murder. The Australian government must assist in getting to the bottom of this by working with Sirul, who is now in their custody, to bring closure to Altantuya’s family.

Sirul should not be allowed to strike any deal with anyone other than the Australian government. Only then will justice be served.

Fair&Just: Only deported? The journalist was lucky that she was not blasted with C4 explosives, and lives to tell her story.
