Family of missing pilgrim hopeful
The family of Munah Jusoh, 73, one of eight Malaysian pilgrims missing following the Makkah crane collapse tragedy, is hopeful that the senior citizen will be found safe soon.
Munah's granddaughter Rosnita Abdul Rashid, 29, said she received the news of her missing grandmother from her grandfather Che Muda Che Tahir, 76, at about 2am today.
"My grandfather told me that my grandmother had gone to the Grand Mosque with three of her female friends in a taxi as their hotel was about a kilometre from the house of worship.
"Grandfather had remained at the hotel," she told reporters at her house in Kampung Bukit Kechik, Cherang Ruku, in Pasir Puteh.
Munah is one of three pilgrims from Kelantan who had gone missing following the incident at about 5pm (10pm in Malaysia) yesterday.
The two other missing pilgrims from Kelantan are Siti Nurolshlizan Zolkifli, 37, of Tanah Merah, and Rohana Ismail, 54, of Kuala Krai.
Rosnita said Tabung Haji contacted her this morning about her missing grandmother.
She said her grandparents left for the holy land last Wednesday.
"Although grandmother is aged, she is strong and does not suffer from any chronic ailments. She still taps rubber to augment the family income," Rosnita said.
