PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has extended an invitation to the three other opposition party leaders to a roundtable discussion next Tuesday on the formation of a new opposition coalition.

"As opposition leader, I have taken the initiative to discuss with the other opposition party leaders since a month ago.

"God willing, through these discussions, I am confident that there is a strong commitment to forming a new opposition coalition like what the rakyat wants," she said in her invitation today.

The roundtable discussion, she explained, will be to talk about issues the opposition parties have to agree upon before they can form a new coalition.

The new coalition will take into account every party's opinions to fight for a Malaysia that is fair, inclusive and harmonious, she said.

"I am certain everyone will put aside their differences for the sake of a new effective opposition coalition that can defend the people and defeat Umno/BN," she said.

Due to the burdens that the people have to bear under the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's administration, the people now have high hopes for a harmonious opposition coalition.

She has invited DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang ( photo ), PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and AMANAH president Mohamad Sabu, along with several NGO leaders and prominent figures like Saifuddin Abdullah and Simon Sipaun.
