Attorney-General's Chambers appellate and trial division deputy head, Anthony Kevin Morais, who was found murdered on Wednesday, will be immortalised at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy's Moot Court.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (operations) Mohd Shukri Abdull said the academy would be named the Kevin Morais Moot Court, following a decision by the MACC top management.

In a statement today, he said a special ceremony to remember Morais' contributions would be held on Oct 1, in conjunction with MACC's 48th anniversary.

"The entire MACC work force respects the high dedication shown by Morais throughout his service with MACC," he said.

Mohd Shukri said the Moot Court was administered by the academy's school of law and prosecution, which provided legal training programmes for MACC officers undergoing basic training in law and investigation.

Morais, 55, was last seen leaving his condominium unit at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 4 for his office in Putrajaya, driving a grey Proton Perdana car bearing registration number WA6264Q.

His body was found after one of several murder suspects led police to a swamp area at Taman Perumahan USJ 1, Persiaran Subang Mewah, near the Klang River, where a drum containing his remains was dumped.

The police have so far detained seven people to facilitate investigations into the murder.

Mohd Shukri said following Morais' death, the prosecution case involving an army medical officer would be handled by a senior DPP, who is now attached with MACC.

"Morais' dedication and commitment will inspire MACC officers to continue MACC's mission, especially in that case," he said.
