The new opposition pact Pakatan Harapan is unrelated to the Selangor administration, said Menteri Besar Azmin Ali.

He said the new coalition consisting of PKR, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara is a political strategy for the next general election.

“It has nothing to do with the state government. This is planning for the 14 th general election. There are many challenges we have to face,” he told reporters in Shah Alam today.

Pressed on PAS’ status in the state government following Pakatan Harapan’s formation, Azmin reiterated the two are separate.

PAS has three members on the Selangor executive council, alongside members from DAP and PKR.

PAS, DAP and PKR were members of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, which broke up earlier this year after a DAP-PAS feud over hudud.
