'Axe Saifuddin for attending Pakatan Harapan launch'

A pro-Umno blog has urged the party’s disciplinary committee to sack Saifuddin Abdullah for attending the unveiling of the new opposition pact Pakatan Harapan.

MyKmu.net also dismissed the former deputy minister’s claim that he attended the roundtable discussion in his capacity as a member of the NGO, Akademi Belia.

“Who is Saifuddin trying to fool? Everyone knows only NGOs who support the opposition would attend the programme.

“It is quite impossible for a pro-government NGO to attend these important moments for the opposition given that the latter’s aim is to topple the BN government,” it said.

Therefore, MyKmu urged the Umno disciplinary board to expel Saifuddin with immediate effect, stating that all enemies in the midst must be removed.

The blog, which often publishes articles in support of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, said Saifuddin’s action can be considered as a betrayal to the party.

“We will be able to see his true face more clearly once he is expelled from Umno just like how we witnessed the brittle struggle of Muhammad Muhammad Taib who hopped from party to another.

“It is time for Umno to cleanse the party of parasites who ruin it from within...,” read the posting.

Earlier, the Malay Mail Online quoted Umno seretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor as stating that Saifuddin’s presence at the meeting would be investigated.

“We will investigate the matter. If he did indeed attend the opposition’s roundtable talks, we will take action against him,” he had said.

Saifuddin, who lost the Temerloh parliament seat in the 2013 general election, has often been critical of the government.

Following this morning’s meeting, Saifuddin tweeted that even an “imperfect” leadership would be better than the current one that is suffering a credibility crisis.

However, he did not specify which leadership he was referring to.
