Gabungan NGO-NGO Malaysia chairperson Jamal Md Yunos today lodged a police report denying claims he had attempted to rape an actress.

This was among the 17 separate police reports he lodged at the Ampang district police station today.

Other reports refute claims by an anonymous blog what he had received RM3 million from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“Things have gone overboard. After discussing with my lawyer, I have decided to take action against those responsible,” said Jamal, who is also Umno Sungai Besar division chief.

Jamal was speaking to reporters after lodging the police report at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters today.

When asked if he knew the actress in question, Jamal said he knew plenty of celebrities.

"I know (the artist in question) and I have met many more. I've met Siti Nurhaliza and others too.

"I know a lot of artists because I am a businessman and own an entertainment company. Many artists know me, too," he said.

Jamal further rubbished the attempted rape allegations as coming from a blog, and not the supposed victim.

"I have checked, there is no statement from the artist," he said.

Malaysiakini is attempting to get the artist's response.
